The Weekend Dump thread (6/4 - 6/5)
Hi, all.

Thought it might be fun to have one place to post all of our stuff, while we wait for Keith's return on Monday.

So, post your li'l hearts away, don't forget your snark, and above all else, keep your knees lose. :loveya:

3. Hooray!
I think every high school in the country is having graduation this week. What did you give him? (I heard a news report that what kids really want is cash.)

5. "Gee, thanks, Uncle Sparky!"
Hey - I missed a tornado today by delaying my trip home, thanks to watching the Weather Channel before I left Mom & Dad's. It hit in Jefferson, about 10 miles north of where they live.

Unfortunately, the tornado tore the roof off of the High School - and they are having graduation tomorrow. :(

6. I didn't know you got them there.
I thought they stayed further south. It's a good thing it happened today, instead of tomorrow.:scared:

7. I heard about the warning, so I thought I should stay put for a while.
After I got home, I called them, and they told me about the school. Gee, even if it was Jefferson (the arch-enemy of Fort Atkinson), it's a shame that happened. But you're right - it could have been much, much worse.

Are ya doing anything fun tomorrow?

10. Yeah. I guess this is one high school graduation
they'll never forget!

Stuff like that has a way of sticking in people's minds...

Oh, could someone send a note to Keith at the top of the thread? This may be kind of like an online pajama party, but there is no real need for him to actually wear jammies. He can join us "au naturel" if he prefers. We'll just call him Commando Keith.

12. Hi...Hi....Hi.....
Glad everybody's survived tornadoes, graduations ...OH MY...this weekend!

I think we're going to hit 10,000 posts tommorrow or Tuesday. Of course, I can put our Group in the Lounge with "Ask Me Anything" :sarcasm:

I rather do it the old fashioned way O8)

Of course, my first thought was to contact NewYawker, but I'm sure we can do our own ****milestone**** for the Lounge?

Hope you all don't mind, but I just "bought" Tavern On the Green in Central Park for our club meetings. Thought the proximity to Keith's apt (assuming he's Central Park West?) would make it more convenient for him after the show <snarky, I am>.

I'm applying for rezoning to allow pets !

14. Anybody watching the Tonys?
Great stuff, even though my thread is sinking like a rock on the Lounge.

15. Ok, my bringing culture to the DU Lounge was
sucessful after all :) Kept it on the first page all evening, thanks to two other Broadway nuts like moi :silly: We stayed ahead of the "do you like sauerkraut" thread. Rah!

16. Kewl. I was having a Tony party
and watching with friends, so we editorialized live! We were all thrilled to see Spamalot win Best Musical since we saw it last month when we went to NYC. Now I have some more things on my list to see, hopefully, when I go back!

17. I love Tony Parties.....
I was in NYC last year, and did the red carpet gawk'n'swoon outside Radio City Music Hall. Then we raced back to our hotel to catch the broadcast, only to pass the theater that "Raisin in the Sun's" P.Diddy and Philica (sp?) Rashad (Cosby's tv wife)and Audra McDonald were exiting on their way to the Tony's. More gawk'n'swoon.

Now at the hotel, we hosted my daughter's all girl heavy metal band and their boyfriends, and was convinced that Broadway appeals to all tastes and lifestyles! Hence my little cultural project at the Lounge....heh.

That was also the weekend that broke my Broadway record attendance, and saw....Fiddler on the Roof, Boy from OZ, and Assassins. No wonder I can only afford going to NYC once a year now....lol.
