1. Hey all!
Happy Birthday Pete Townshend (just wanted to say that).

And, that the "Red Cross," who had to change its name to the "Red Cresent" in the Middle East as not to offend is reporting on the Qur'an abuse is, well, ironic. :)

:loveya: Keef!

Edited on Thu May-19-05 07:50 PM by Clark2008
We've exchanged letters several times and I've been to his house. He still sends Christmas Cards every year.

He's a genius AND a sweetheart. :loveya:

105. I love Pete Townshend
Edited on Thu May-19-05 08:56 PM by Greylyn58
I was lucky enough to have seen The Who a few years back, around the time Pete's album "Empty Glass" was all over the place. The Who came to Raleigh, NC and a bunch of us when to see them. We had incredible seats and I loved it when Pete played some of the songs from that album.

One of my favorite song's came off his album "White City: A Novel" called "Face the Face". I love that song.

edited for mistake on song name.

118. Hi, Greylyn ... and a big ol' "woof" to Sherry.
. . . It was Face The Face, wasn't it? (The Face is a sort of People Magazine over there, if memory serves.) I have "White City," and used to turn that track way up when it started to play.

Totally envious you got to see them -- but glad I missed them in Cincinnati. (Pete was so guilt-stricken about that, he went into a serious funk for a while.)

142. You're right it is Face the Face
I mis-typed

I remember the tragedy in Cincinnati....God that was awful. One of my favorite TV shows at the time, WKRP in Cincinnati did a wonderful show about the tragedy.

I never liked Festival Seating which is what got those 11 people killed. In 1977, my best friend and I were almost squashed at a concert for The Beach Boys(if you can believe that). It was one of the scariest situations I'd ever been in.

Oh and Sheridan says--WOOF WOOF!! :)

152. Actually, "The Face" in this song refers to old Mod slang.
The Face is the leader or the person, in this song, in which you want to overthrow, keep and eye on or usurp.

137. Face the face - got to the face the face
Face the face - got to the face the face.
You must have heard the cautionary tales
The danger's hidden on the cul-de-sac trails.
From wiser men who have been through it all
And the ghosts of failures spray-canned up on the Wall.

We got to judge the judge
We got to find the finds
We got to scheme the schemes
we got to line the lines.
We must stake the stakes
We got to show the shown
We got to take the takes
We got to know the known.

Try to place the place where we can face the face
Try to place the place where we can face the face.
Face the face - got to face the face

Face the face - got to face the face.

You must have tried and then defied belief
Maybe found futility in insular grief.
I need your hunger you need mine
A million miles can swallow up time.

We got to fool the fools
We got to plan the plans
We got to rule the rules
We got to stand the stands.
We got to fight the fight
We must fall the falls
We got to light the light
We got to call the calls.

We must race the race so we can face the face
We must race the race so we can face the face.
Face the face - we got to face the face

We got to race the race - we got to -

Keep looking - New York
Chicago - London and Glasgow - keep looking

Keep on looking keep on cooking
Got to stay on this case

Study the pix
Watch the flix
We got to find the face.

Face the face - got to face the face -
Watch the flix - got to -

We got to judge the judge
We got to find the finds
We got to scheme the schemes
We got to line the lines.
We got to fight the fight
We got to fall the falls
We got to light the light
We got to call the calls.

Try to place the place where we can face the face
Try to place the place where we can face the face.
Try to place the place where we can face the face
We must place the place so we can face the face
We must place the place so we can face the face
We must place the place so we must face the race.

that makes me laugh every time he comes on, even when he's talking seriously.

There's something about the way he talks that's just funny. "Well, ya see...I mean, it's just..." It's like he's about to break into chuckles at any moment over the stupidity of a certain president or something.

other than American tourists. However it is true that French women do have orange/pink hair in great numbers. And, get out your cropped pants, put some fishnets on under them and add any high-heeled ankle boot (actually wrestling boots will work, too) you own, and you're good. :) Not joking.

Have a wonderful time. Parliament's back in session, and the scene I posted above is there everyday as far as I can tell. Trying to be discreet in The Louvre while shooting this photo is part of the reason it's blurry. The other is the lighting.

Yes, I went to see The Raft of the Medusa, and got her too. Bonus!

So funny.

That reminds me Patsy, you missed the Florida Hall of Fame while you were away. It was priceless. I think D. might have the video.

Holy crap, why doesn't he just wear a neon sign. A light green and brown tie, a PINK shirt, and a dark brown suit. And, migod, that particularly nasty shade of yellow-green with evil broad stripes!

Bad! BAD! BAD wardrobe department! :spank:

Me gotta go too. Really. I was GOING to get some decent sleep last night, but exactly at the time I was going to go to bed, some kids on another floor of the building apparently decided it would be fun to set a little fire. There I am undressing and I hear that damn fire alarm. Didn't get to bed for another 45 minutes, after having to leave the building, and was tired all day.

But ah, at least I can have a good sleep now.

180. I like to think of it as
truly interactive TV. It is weird when it all converges though, isn't it? I think "tie night" did it for me.

Put the TP on the roll -- over the top, not the other way, because it will show your generosity, clean the friggin' house fer chrissake, and get the box o' wine handy. Tomorrow is your lucky day, Bot.

Watch out for Bay Airs and EDVs lying in wait to narrow the competition. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to make "The Divine Miss M" forget all about KO. If you fail in this mission, we probably won't disavow any knowledge of your existence, but we will be sad and offer you a shoulder to cry on.

Go get 'er, tiger!
