Sportswriters still pining for KO

It used to be that I viewed ESPN2's Cold Pizza the same way I would cold pizza itself. It's not something I really want, but if there is nothing else, I'll consume it.

Given that the program airs at a time (8 a.m. to 10 a.m., with an immediate replay) when SportsCenter is running, there is something else, so I wasn't consuming. But lately I've been taking small bites of the show and finding it quite appetizing.

Host Jay Crawford still has that deer-in-the-headlights look -- if only Keith Olbermann found his way back across those burned bridges to take over -- but Dana Jacobson is a vast improvement over Kit Hoover. Maybe I've just been lucky enough to keep missing the show's pop culture/lifestyle segments, but I keep hearing people talking sports who actually seem to know what they're talking about.
