1. Sorry Bot, but I will believe it when I see it on Fitz's own Web site.
I know a whole lot of people would believe the world was flat if Jason Leopold told them it was so...especially if the MSM told them it was round.

But I need to see that it has actually happened before I believe it.

I need to see the news posted on Fitz's site. I need to see the frog-march on TV. I need it to HAPPEN...not to keep hearing that people SAY it has happened, or will happen.

Only then will I break out the champagne. And if that means giving Leopold credit for breaking it, so be it.

6. Hi BerryBush, Here's what's posted on Fitz's website
http://patrickjfitzgerald.blogspot.com/2006/05/red-hot.html#links

I have never been known as one who spills my candy in the lobby, but Friday was a very long day AND Karl is guilty as sin AND this grand jury hates evil doers as much as I do - so you can draw your own conclusions! Please allow me to go back to enjoying my romantic picnic. ;)

Have a great weekend.

2. Fitz has run a tight ship thus far
how come all these leaks are coming out now? That is my only concern.

4. My guess is from somebody in the White House who wants to get
Rove or somebody on Rove's legal team who wants to inoculate the
public with the facts in small doses before it hits the media big time.

Russert spoke about the indictment as fact today on cnbc ..... (2nd hand info though)

If it turns out to be true, great. But time will tell.

7. My fear is that
we get all wrapped up in this build-up, running around hooting about how Rove has been indicted & then Monday comes & he's been no-billed & the freepers crow about how poor Rove was set up by the evil liberals & is really as pure & innocent as driven snow.

10. I must confess, I allowed myself some celebratory shouting, laughing,
crying (happy tears) and high fiving with various friends and family but I will really break out the bubbly when there is a confirmation from Fitz and KO. I was more convinced when Will came on DU more than once to reassure us the story is true though.

I just needed to get rid of some of the tension, the waiting is killing me. Just so down to the wire and no telling what Bushbaby will do to avoid accountability for his crimes and those of his inner cabal. Looks like he is getting ready to throw Cheney under the bus or from the train. Notes in the margins of Wilson's editorial, could Darth Cheney really be that stupid??? And that news is from Fitz.

I've been glued to firedoglake.com If anyone has the official news first it will be them.

11. Not stupid, arrogant
Pardon me for getting all "history minor" on you ;), but it's a recurring pattern that extremely arrogant people in positions of (almost) absolute authority get sloppy once they feel "safe" from accountability. I've been waiting for this to happen, & am still looking forward to seeing Cheney rot in that jail Halliburton is building in Gitmo.

13. yes I'd momentarily forgotten the imperial arrogance of these people.
and of course they thought they had any discovery of wrongdoing covered with Ashcroft as Attourney General. That's why Rove walked around with his arrogant 'I am not a Target' button and posed for pictures in it. That deserves to be the front page picture when he is actually confirmed as having been indicted.

17. Remember way back when
when we were all speculating just how bad the domestic spying program had to be if 2 administration hacks (Ashcroft & his #1) BOTH balked on signing off on it? yoiks.

24. Well, there was plenty of action and drama, but none of it was good.
Highlights:

- Boring, awful second date on Friday in which dude asked me at the end "Did you have a good time?" and I threw in just enough of an awkward pause before I said "Yes" to ensure I wouldn't be asked again. Go me!

- Worked municipal election on Saturday, had conversation with neighbor which convinced me that he is two bricks shy of a full load.

- Returned home to high drama via email list in which a precinct chair and longtime party activist (not myself) resigned in high dudgeon.

- Had "meet you at the show" kind of first date on Saturday, however, date neglected to show up. I enjoyed the show nevertheless. Actually that was the high point.

- Had dinner plans tonight (yet another first date) and the dude cancelled on me this morning. I can't really decide how to play this-- He sent me a phone number & email asking if it was on, I said yes and I'd call him later, he sent back another email saying he had to cancel because his mom had something last minute she wanted to do for Mother's day, but to call anyway so we could reschedule.
I don't really feel like calling. I think I'll just leave it for awhile until I feel less cranky towards the universe in general.

And that was the weekend! At least it had the merit of being damn entertaining!

Edited on Sun May-14-06 06:37 PM by Botany
Dunking your senses and flooding your emotions.

Come on up to Ohio and I will give you my $25.00 date special
Taco Bell .... to show I understand exciting "international food,"
a 12 pack of beer or 2 bottles of Crane Lake Wine ... $4.95 each.
and then the local 2nd run funky movie house ...... 1 medium popcorn
and if you are real nice 37 seconds of "stud love"
spend the night if you want ..... sleep on the sofa, though.

Funny I don't get a lot of second dates.

Just remember it is not a good sign when your date does not show up
for your date.

27. That is not sad .... that is good.
It means that you are comfortable with yourself ....
and you don't need somebody else to validate your self worth.

BTW remember a restraining order from a person you went out with
is not meant to say he wants cuff love.

when the grand jury doesn't issue an indictment. And are you sure about that speech? The speculation on that thread was it was removed from the homepage because it was sold out.

Edited on Sun May-14-06 05:04 PM by gkhouston
but I also don't think we'll hear about it in the MSM until he's been quietly arraigned in an obliging location, after having a glamor mug shot taken, a la Delay. After all, aren't we supposed to be spending our time worrying about the Mescan Menace? :eyes:

23. I'd love to get a good snarking from the King of Snark.
You know who that is, of course. :-)

In the meantime, yes--as faithful fans of Keith Olbermann, we must take pride in our avoidance of premature jocularity.

There will be plenty of time for jocularity when the grits hit the pan.

In the meantime, for those who didn't know about it or bookmark it earlier, here's the REAL Fitz Web site:

http://www.usdoj.gov/usao/iln/osc/index.html

The other stuff you see out there may be amusing and fun, but it won't be real until you see it here.

Tomorrow will be the day after Mother's Day, but may also be an early Fitzorial Day. Let's all keep our fingers crossed. I have faith in Truthout and believe this story, but won't celebrate until the Fat Boy sings!
