Rita to be pulled from her slot?
Seems like KO watchers will not stick for Rita .....
Hey MSNBC ..... we will not stick for Joe "Dead Intern" Scarborough either.

Primetime Moves At MSNBC: Joe At 9, Tucker At 10, Rita At 11

MSNBC is shaking up its primetime lineup next Monday, TVNewser has learned. Joe Scarborough is moving ahead an hour to 9pm, Rita Cosby is being pushed to 11pm, and Tucker Carlson is taking Joe's spot at 10pm.

The lineup change is intended to create a more seamless primetime lineup. Hardball with Chris Matthews and Countdown with Keith Olbermann have enjoyed ratings gains in recent months, but Countdown's viewers don't seem to stick around for Rita's crime segments.

So here's the new schedule: Scarborough Country at 9pm, The Situation with Tucker Carlson at 10pm, and Live & Direct with Rita Cosby at 11pm. Expect an announcement later this week...

Rita's next move QVC @ the 1:00 to 3:00 AM slot?

1. I won't stay for Joe dead intern but at least I
won't kill myself trying to change channels fast enough to not hear Gargles with Razorblades voice.

Hi Bot, great EDV writing and you wouldn't clean out a room 4 times without doing anything now would ya?

14. Sorry about that a something
I can't figure out about a man. He has clean out the same room he filled with junk 4 times now and it looks just like it did before he started. Think it might be more a packrat thing though. So I have been taking stuff out to get rid of one way or another. (Donate, Freecycle or dump)

Oh well - maybe the next shake-up.

4. Tucker is an act.
playing to the right w/ his bow tie (prop) and his hair style. He is an act for
money ...... he is as deep as a kiddy pool and with a a very superficial knowledge
of the real world. The man would say that Michael Jackson would be a great
Cub Scout leader if the price was right.

Although he is smart he is just an act .... and a bad one at that.

leadin audience from Keith, and it ain't with Joe Scarborough.

That would be to give one of the "two Davids" (Gregory or Shuster) his own show.

And they're probably both too busy for that.

Still, it will sure be nice to no longer have to see, or hear, Keith throwing to Razor Blade Voice.

Did you see her when Keith's paper wad "broke the glass" last night? She almost ducked.

13. I *would* watch either of the two Davids
although I think David Gregory guest-hosted before and I'm not sure Shuster ever has, I wouldn't be averse to seeing Shuster host something. Ditto Craig Crawford, for that matter. But it sounds like MSNBC is trying to shuffle the deck chairs they have.

That would be wonderful!!
But then who would hang around the White House to poke the press secretary with a stick every day? He's already doing important work.

move to your country and get a job, healthcare, blah, blah,...", Tucker apparently has never heard of all the white Americans (mostly retirees) who have moved to Mexico, Costa Rica, etc. to take advantage of the cheap labor. Since when has any national border been impermeable? Move into the real world, Tucker!
And what is all this terrorism talk vis-a-vis the U.S.- Mexico border? The only terrorist I can remember crossing a border came through from Canada.

7. This is great news
Not that I like Joe, but I won't have to rush to change channels as quickly now. Better news would be that they cancelled her altogether.

8. I'd like to see KO and Tucker back to back...
Their shows flow better together.

I'm actually enjoying Tucker's show, when he gets off the political stuff. He has a goofy sense of humor, and isn't afraid to poke fun at himself. Their "Oddball" ripoff at the end is really funny.

Oh, well...Rita is up against her real opposition: "The Daily Show" and "The Colbert Report."

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who thinks that way.
I also thought Tucker would do better in another timeslot.

9. Ah, no more Rita voice.
No more post-KO lunge to change the channel. WHEW.

To tell the truth, though, every time they run a promotion for Joe Scarborough, I think that's Matthew Perry (of Friends) smirking out of my TV set.

And I've never bought Scarborough's standing-up-for-the-little-guy shtick, either.

I like Ron. He's such an antithesis to his father, it's wonderful. :)

I have to try to schedule my channel changing just right so I don't have to listen to Tweety's repuke ass kissing/Hillary bashing/lying!

17. I'm glad if they do change Rita's time.
Edited on Tue Apr-11-06 01:56 PM by Janice325
I won't watch Joe either, but I won't have to rush to change the channel so quickly so I don't have to hear Rita's "voice." :banghead:
I think Rita will draw more viewers in Tucker's old slot than Tucker did. I think Rita's got a built in audience of those who like to watch her "sleeze" factor, which is very similar to the "Nancy Grace" factor, but without Nancy's outrageous pontificating and visible "anger."
I don't know if Joe and Tucker's audience will increase at their new times.
MSNBC should ditch Tweety, Joe, Tucker and Rita. They could replace them with Alison, Ron, either of the two Davids, Rachel Maddow or Brian Unger. Any of them (or a combination of them) would be substantially better. I'd watch any of them from the 7-8 and 10-midnight timeslot.
They just better not dick around with KO's slot!!!!!

18. helpful Hint for MSNBC
You want to hang on to KO's audience? Give Rachel Maddow her own show & put it on after "Countdown."

21. Bad news. Rumor going around now that this won't happen...
...that Rita found out and raised bloody hell because apparently it's in her contract that she has to be aired in prime time.

If it's so...as Keith would say, "Oops."

22. Well......
If Rita stays, could we still maybe get rid of Tweety, Joe and Tucker for any of the replacements we've suggested above in this thread?
I could probably deal with Rita (but I still wouldn't like her) if they ditched the other three.
