Alito DID NOT SIDE WITH OTHER CONSERVATIVES ON HIS FIRST SUPREME COURT DECISION. The freepers can start moaning now, Alito does'nt agree that man should be executed.

1. I just saw this as a crawl on MSNBC this morning while setting a tape |
|
which is the only way I will let Don Imus on my TV for a second.
Damn that Alito! His very first decision and HE DOESN'T STAY BOUGHT!
Could it be that he's so "pro-life" that he's not going to side with them on the death-penalty stuff?
Or do we truly not know what he'll do because he never really had to give much of himself away to get to where he is?
Well. I wonder how much the freepers are going to like this guy who "legislates from the bench." If I knew him personally I'd say "Look out when you cross the street, pal."

the Catholic Church rejects the death penalty. Scalia is a bad Catholic, Alito is a good Catholic. Should make for some interesting, behind closed doors, debates.

2. I heard this during the Rachel Maddow Show this |
|
morning, on the CNN news. Maybe, just maybe, all of our fears were unfounded? I doubt it, but this is a small good sign.

3. I doubt it, too, but it would be soooo delicious if it were true |
|
and I do believe he'd say anything to get a job. Well, he's gone as far as he can go, so maybe now we'll find out what he really thinks... although I'm guessing we already know. :scared:

not for a second. toss out a few "liberal" decisions to make the filibuster fight look stupid, then when that wears off (ie, dies from the front pages & down the memory hole), start siding w/brother antonin.

5. That's almost exactly what I was thinking a little while ago |
|
Just make us feel stupid and relaxed a bit on a case that doesn't affect a lot of people and then, when it really matters, BAM!

6. what would be the point in doing that, though? |
|
There's nothing we can do about Alito now. I think that just happened to be his decision on this particular case.
