Keith's Appearance on the show Surface
The episode that Keith appeared on will repeat on the Sci-Fi channel tonight at 11:00pm. Keith appears in the last 15 to 20 mins of the show. It's worth it to see him as I thought it was really funny.

2. Sorry...Should have been more specific
Sunday night, Jan 8 at 11:00pm--Sci-Fi channel, the show Surface will be repeated. Keith appears as I said in the last 15 to 20 mins of the show.

It's worth seeing even if you've never seen Surface.

Enjoy!

3. For anyone watching the Surface episode on Sci-Fi
It seems that I gave incorrect info about the show on Sci-Fi. The one with Keith's appearance will be on Monday night at 7:00pm on Sci-Fi.

Sorry ya'll...my bad!

4. Planning to watch and tape.
Supposedly it WILL also be rerun at this time (11 ET Sunday) *next* Sunday as well. But it's nice to be able to catch it tomorrow night already.

I'm downloading it from iTunes too, but because I have dialup, it's taking forever and a day...

5. I stayed up until midnight waiting for him last night and he never
came on. Thanks for the correction. Not sure if I'll be able to catch it tonight. If I'm home from the gym on time, I might be able to watch the end of the show.

6. thanks for the clarification. I'll tape the "correct" episode.
Saw last night's show while I was working and thought it was pretty decent. I hadn't seen that series before; how long has it been on the air?

7. I think for about a year. I just saw Keith's part of the episode.
Criticisms:

--Too much use of Countdown music and visual transitional wipes. They would never be used WITHIN a single story just to move from one image to another.

--Actor portraying reporter, as is usually case with actors playing reporters, not brisk and unemotional enough.

--Had the story been a real one, more stock footage would have been used, rather than just showing footage of the actress playing the researcher talking as she was interviewed.

--Also, the NOAA guy would have been shot head on, sitting in a chair talking about her, rather than at that funny angle where he looked like he was posing for a glamour shot or something.

--Actor playing reporter was presented as if he were doing a live standup accompanying his taped interview and throwing live to Keith, which never happens on Countdown unless there's a breaking news story.

--When Keith pitches the paper wad at the end of the show, the lens doesn't "break" and there is no sound (rather like that one time last week).

--At the end of the show, the NBC News music plays, as it used to in the old "no smooth transition between shows" days of MSNBC last year (no doubt because it's not like Keith could throw to Rita "Sea Serpent" Cosby).

Best part: Keith's snark was fully intact. I wouldn't be surprised if he wrote his own lines after receiving guidance from the show as to what his reaction was supposed to be. I think he was the best actor on the whole episode. Totally believable, playing himself! (which sounds easy, but for people who don't act for a living, isn't).
