Sorry I've been out of the Loop for a few days, but I did make it a point to catch up on the 4ERD Live Blog threads ! It was interesting that some of the visitors didn't even know KO had a Group!!!

Last night, when KO did his Gannon segment, I was in GD-Pol, but there were TWO KOEB threads, so I'm so sorry I didn't throw it to the link. With hopes, in the Clubhouse, the official live blog thread can be started long before 8 pm? Ya'know, with the daily newsletter too :)

And to those KOEBers suffering personal tragedies these past couple of days, I am so thinking of you.

I'm also discovering that ALOT of DUers give up far too easily on MSM, I hope we can be more positive here. Especially that the public forums certainly gave up *way too quickly* on KO last night :( Had they had the opportunity to read and participate in the KOEB blog, it was definitely spelled out for them!

Oh, and if I may, yesterday's Countdown newsletter mentioned the Air Marshall story, which I was very sorry that Keith had to bump it in favor of "entertainment" news items. My son is a FAM, and the airlines really need to address those safety concerns SOON. Sorry, I can't give you details, otherwise, "son will have to kill me"...joking!

Seriously, there is alot that I know Keef rather be covering, than sand, pails, shovels, Brad, Angelina, ad nauseaum....

1. the Angelina/Brad segment would have been an utter waste

except it was a great excuse to have Musto on the show. Other than that, who cares if they're doing the nasty? I'm a little concerned about the welfare of the 3-year-old, but I suspect he's farmed out to a nanny most of the time and that the nanny is more of a mom to him than Angelina.

The results on the poll came out narrowly in favor of moving this Friday, 4/29 so get ready to party in the clubhouse.

Let's rumble :) I'll gently suggest the KOEB room on 4ERD start a tad earlier than usual, so I won't have egg on my face when I send the more public DUers to a deleted thread !

6. I haven't done squat

you're the one who started the "shall we switch?" poll and got the ball rolling. I was merely growly uneasy about the state of our welcome in 4ERD, especially with a clubhouse (almost) ready for us to jump into.

2. I get the impression he's realistic about his profession ...

. . . that news shows have to attract a viewership sufficient to pay the bills and that means he can't have absolutely everything his own way.

However, I was thinking that being Keith Olbermann has to be great because nobody's surprised any more when he does a story no one else is interested in, or covers it from an angle other anchors don't.

His off-beat reputation gives him a lot of latitude!

He even gets to crab about the stories his producers make him do and get away with it because, hey, it's Keith, so he MUST be kidding or at least half-kidding, right?

He says someday all news shows will look more like his, that he's re-inventing broadcast news.

I think it's more like he's rediscovered variety. Never saw so many plates spinning all at the same time as he's got going on Countdown!

The public DU forums are hungry for live blogs, so it really doesn't have to be so structured. I threw up a "reminder" post for Keef last night for the Gannon coverage, and the thread went wild. Like I said before, would have thrown them to the KOEB liveblog, but there were two at the time !

Since I lurk all over, just think I might start pointing our Group out to the DU public-posters. Methinks some are not as patient as I am to explore all DU Groups! Especially a few who posted to last night's KOEB blog..."ya have a group?"...heh.
