I lost my last posts due to traffic.

As I tried to post before, it's nice to see Keith doing the continuing coverage. If anyone doubts whether he is a "real" journalist, just point to tonight's coverage. He actually was able to analyze that caucophany and glean something from it.

Give him time, he may even make sense out of Tim Russert.

Oh, and shrubbie: Ask not for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee.

And what's with this I-must-make-a-speech-or-appearance-every-third-day bullshit? What are we not supposed to be looking at? Fitzgerald closing in on Rove? Iraq circling the drain? I can smell the desperation, but I can't decide what it is they fear most. As for the "latest" WP/ABC poll, doesn't Gallup poll for them? Yet the "G" word is conspicuously absent from the poll name in news reports... am I misremembering or do they realize a lot of people will hoist the "bullshit!" flag the minute they hear that Gallup is giving blivet** favorable numbers?? Or is this poll so cooked that even Gallup wouldn't do it?

77. oh now, that's gotta be cute (the three year old)
I'm still getting caught up on old posts, after being away from DU for most of the weekend. My five-year-old recently learned "Angels We Have Heard on High". Whilst correcting her pronunciation of "gloria in excelsis Deo", I explained to her that those words were in Latin and what they meant. A few days ago, my husband was reading the Christmas story to her at bedtime and when he got to the part about the angels, she insisted on singing the song and then asked him why the angels were singing in Latin. Think fast, Dad. :-)

80. well, she's loud, that's for sure
gives the ten- and twelve-year-olds at church a run for their money. And she does actually sing recognizably correct tunes most of the time, which is a mercy, considering that's she's loud. I spend a fair bit of time, when she's talking, reminding her that she has a big voice and doesn't need to use all of it. She likes to "turn down her volume" by clicking imaginary knobs on the front of her shoulders. Sometimes I turn them for her. :7

64. I AM IN DESPAIR. I WAS FORCED TO MISS IT ALL. EVERY LAST LIVING BIT
Edited on Sun Dec-18-05 10:59 PM by BerryBush
because I had a social obligation tonight that involved a restaurant and other people agreeing we would be there at 6. I was watching a program lasting till 6 and had to leave at 5:30. I didn't want to miss the last part so I set it to tape. Because of complications with my cable box, I can't set to tape off different channels with a timer--I have to leave my cable box on one channel that I am taping. So I couldn't set it to tape this.

We got to the restaurant at 6:30. We were then subjected to a half-hour wait for a table. Finally seated, we waited 20 minutes to order and about a half-hour wait before our entrees finally arrived. We didn't even get out of the place until almost 9. Then other social obligations forced me to spend time I would rather not have spent away from any TV where I could have watched this.

Please, someone tell me it's being rerun sometime overnight and I can set a tape for it. I'm ready to haul out the ropes and razor blades because I KNEW Keith was going to be on and I also knew that NO WAY WOULD I MAKE IT HOME IN TIME. And now who do I get? Hours and hours of TUCKER CARLSON.

Please. Someone. Tell me life does not consist of this.

On edit: Please don't anyone tell me to check the MSNBC Web site. All it ever has on it is the same old schedule that tells you little to nothing. My cable guide onscreen also obviously hasn't been updated so it is useless. I guess I have no choice but to tape all night long. And of course, when I wake up tomorrow and find I taped eight hours of reruns of "MSNBC Investigates" or something, I am not going to be happy.

It's like a freaking living nightmare. You KNOW it's on but you CAN'T go see it because you HAVE to do other things.

So much for bonus Keith.

66. And does that provide me with Keith sound and visuals?
Edited on Sun Dec-18-05 11:24 PM by BerryBush
No, it does not.

Sheesh. I would have been better off taking my XM Radio with me and listening to MSNBC on the sly!

on edit: Sorry, but I am not heartbroken over missing the shrub's predictable talking points, I am heartbroken over being forced to miss KEITH. Go figure, huh?

Edited on Sun Dec-18-05 11:33 PM by Patsy Stone
Keith up there with the "big boys". Don't despair, maybe there will be video around DU soon. I'm so sorry, Berry.

I was expecting him to be on, but I thought *'s speech was going to be longer, and there would be less than there was. It was wonderful to see him analyzing with the A-list. Russert and Williams, Fineman twice. Dana Milbank, Kelly O'Donnell and Joe Biden (who went on and on forever, and took up too much Keith time).

75. well, I missed it, too
not that I wanted to, but that's the way things happen sometimes. My husband was not pleased to see Bowtie Boy on the set. I wish you could have heard his plaintive and mildly disgusted, "I thought we were going to get Keith". Although I wish I'd seen it, I figure Bush isn't going to run out of stupid arrogance anytime soon, and Keith isn't going to run out of intelligent reporting anytime soon; there will be plenty of other opportunities in the future to appreciate his work.

And it will never come back.

Hide the shoelaces and belts from me.
