I knew they were doing a meet-up, and they had been sending birthday cards across the country to be signed. They had intended to hand deliver them, but decided to organize a meet-up at a birthday fundraiser instead. Well, I guess Theresa got word of the planned get-together and decided to honor the bloggers at the event.

I'm so glad KO opened tonights show with Novakula's 'Bug the President' remark. That was almost worth having him emerge from his coffin to announce (Novakula not KO).

I wish Lawrence O'Donnell would quit saying Vivnovka is going to get Karl Rove off. First of all there's a very bad visual there, and secondly IT AIN'T TRUE. Chubby McTreason is going down for the count or I will have to be institutionalized. We need to be celebrating indictments on Presidents Day weekend ladies, lots of them.

he's still pushing that idea. When she first came forward with the story, it sounded like a fishy but correctly timed alibi. Now, it sounds like a fishy and incorrectly timed alibi. All it does is muddy the waters a bit, but the story stinks to high heaven. I could see why he might argue for the possibility of a trial jury getting sidetracked by bullshit, but it sounds like O'Donnell is campaigning for the certainty of Fitzgerald and/or the grand jury buying this story as a "get out of indictment free" card. :wtf:

watch, I'm sure a lot more excruciating to experience however. I'm always amazed when people will want to go back and do something like that over again once they've had such a close-call. I love reading about people like that though, it's fascinating. One of my favorite books is 'Into Thin Air' about that fateful Everest Climb. Those people are mad crazy to be climbing that mountain. Just amazing.

106. Forgot to explain this one. You get it if you listen to the radio show.

This was Keith's neat attempt at recycling yet more of his work for Dan Patrick's show as part of Countdown. Earlier, Dan had asked him to come up with obituaries/epitaphs that athletes might use in the vein of this Cards fan. Keith came up with a long list of them and read them on the air while Dan laughed.

He used some of them--not all--for this show. The difference is, on the radio he didn't attempt to "explain" the history behind any of them, whereas for Countdown he obviously felt the need, playing to a less sports-focused audience, to give a little background as to why he would have chosen such a phrase for a particular athlete. Unfortunately, it came off somewhat the way it would if you had to explain the punchline to a joke before you delivered the joke.

:hi: all from a late Berry After the Show. I gotta say, I LOVED all the Oddball video tonight. I don't think that pig suffered any long-term harm from a temporary stun. It got in there by accident--it wasn't thrown into a baseball stadium for people's amusement. Sheesh. I don't know, I guess I have a higher threshold for what constitutes "animal cruelty" than some people. I'll save it for when animals are deliberately being tortured for great lengths of time (and killed) and people call it entertainment.

I didn't realize how much I was going to enjoy the end of the show until it came along. The impact of all that Silly Keith at the end of the show hit me like the proverbial ton of bricks and I laughed my butt off. Now I'm really looking forward to the hour-long special Dec. 26.

Of course, I can never get enough Bubba the Lobster. And I guess I must have missed it the first time, because the reference to "We were going to have 'String Theory with Keith Olbermann,' but they hid my physics textbook" or whatever it was just too funny.
