I'm not saying that anybody in here is jumping the gun on the KO merch (http://www.cafepress.com/tellthetruth) but wouldn't those mugs be much cooler in black?

6. I got a consumer "survey" from CafePress.

At the end, they asked for comments. So I wrote "I have a friend who would like to do a ceramic mug in a darker color - preferably dark blue or black. More options to the colors would be nice."

If any of you get this survey, it might be good to ask.

10. They really do LOOK nice... The only bad thing is, they WEIGH a ton!

I wish they used lighter pottery. The KOEB mugs are heavy, too.

Perhaps the heavier stuff keeps costs down. ???

If it's real stoneware, then it might not craze in the microwave. Lighter weight mugs are usually made out of this white talc-like pottery, which chips very easily and also causes the glaze to craze (crack) in the microwave or dishwasher.
If you've ever been to one of those paint-your-own pottery stores (As You Wish is one of them), then you know the stuff that I'm talking about.
Everybody seems really happy with their mugs. I should get one.

I have a selfish interest in Clark getting settled in a new job -- so she can continue spinning off new KO paraphernalia for us!

You may be right about the microwaveability, q. I hadn't intended to microwave anything in my mug -- except maybe to warm up my coffee.
