Cardinals won! Told ya so!
KO, I bow before your superior baseball knowledge (but not your east coast baseball snobbery), when I say: keep the day job and leave the handicapping to the bookies.

1. LOL! Now just hope really, really hard for a Yankees loss today
so that Keith can get his mind back to the unraveling * administration, where it belongs.

Oh, wait, I forgot. YOU get NOTHING personally out of this unless the Yankees make it to the Series and Keith ends up visiting your town.

Never mind.

*sulk* *sulk* *sulk*

2. That's right, Berry!
Many others will be happy too as many Cardinal fans are also secret Yankee fans. When the Yankees came here this summer everybody wanted their autographs. Of course, we want the Cards to win!

Unfortunately, the Yankees are teetering on the edge of elimination. I'm thinking that, if we play the White Sox, the Cards may have the melancholy distinction of helping another team end it's 'curse'.:yoiks:

Hope the Yankees pull themselves together, KO, remember I get first dibs on an autograph.:hi: :loveya:

6. Don't you mean Anaheim, Azusa and Cucamonga?
Hmph...

Regardless, this poses the question to which we all want the answer.

Does Keith hop a last-second bargain flight and dash off to watch them play (lest it be BAD LUCK for him not to be there in the deciding final game...after all, he blames himself for their loss of last year's pennant), or does he stay home and do Countdown like a good boy? With two earpieces...the director in one ear, the game in the other?

"Breaking news here at MSNBC...President Bush has just announced his resignation...DAMN! Giambi STRUCK OUT?!?!?...er, um, I mean, more on Countdown, stay tuned."

9. okay, so my husband and I were speculating as to whether
or not Keith would fly out for the game tonight on the drive to work today, when the munchkin pipes up from the back seat, "are the Astros playing tonight, too?" (I think there are only two baseball teams in her world: the Astros and the Faceless Enemy.) So we explain, "no, we're talking about a different team. You know the news guy on TV? He likes baseball even more than Aunt Mary and his home team is playing tonight. We're talking about the Yankees." She didn't hear us properly and thought we said the name of the team is (get this) "hankies". I am so glad I wasn't driving this morning because I totally lost it.

Last night, when we were watching the end of the game on TV (didn't get to see it in person because yesterday was the day we had the re-scheduled b-day party :grr:), she thought the players spraying each other with champagne were baptizing one another. It was a few minutes before I could compose myself enough to tell her that although baptism can indeed be a joyous occasion, it doesn't usually take place in a locker room...
