:hi:

Sad, sad day for America. Thanks for lying under oath at your confirmation hearings, Roberts and Alito!

1. Hi bleev! Those assholes on the SC who did this should be
flogged!

It's one thing to be able to SPEAK your opinion with words.

Now corporations can openly buy any politician they want! :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr:

4. We could always hold a bake sale.
Or put on a show in the backyard. That should challenge the brazillions of dollars they're going to pour into elections from now on.

Why, yes. Yes it is!

3. Hi Patsy!
Yep, it sure is. Fuckers now have MORE rights than we do.

I agree with a caller to Randi's show I heard today. He said that if corporations are people, then they should have to pay taxes JUST LIKE THE PEOPLE DO, and not hide them in offshore account.

And Boehner, STFU!!

(Glad you're feeling a little better.... )

10. So if they're people, then do they get to vote, too?
:banghead:

I think the way around this is to demand full disclosure on all TV ads, and by all candidates ("this ad is paid for by People for Fucked Up America, and funded by Butty-Fuck Insurance, on behalf of the Boner." )

And, like MSNBC is doing, all candidates should have a floaty box with their bio and connections, in all ads.

:eyes: I'm about ready to give up.

:hi: But first, pass me a beer.

20. I like the NASCAR patches idea.
Wear your sponsor on your sleeve. Sell space on the front of your Congressional desk. The front of the Speaker's podium should have a green screen so all the corporations who sponsored a particular legislation can have their logos rotated for the C-SPAN cameras. Let no sponsorship opportunity go to waste! :hi:

And re-name the halls of congress! Sell the desks! Redo the letterhead!

You know, if I actually thought evilly, I'd probably make tons of money. Of course, the downside would be having to become a repuke.

since you have to be a US citizen to donate, I'd say any corp that wanted to donate would have to be incorporated in the US AND PAY TAXES LIKE THE REST OF US!

Oh well. Fun while it lasted.

51. O.K. so the SCOTUS missed in this ruling but it is not like the court doesn't
..... have precedent in fucked up rulings. See Bush v Gore
Where the ruled that the counting of the vote would cause embarrassment to
Bush because the media already had said he had won the election. The ruling
was so bad that Sandra O'Connell wrote that the case was not applicable to
any past or future cases.

Allito, Roberts, Tony the Fixer, C. Thomas, and Anthony Kennedy can hurry up and die.

58. Feel better soon, GGM.
:hi: Keith's Special Comment was great. I am sorry I missed it in person, but then again I missed the RULING news, too. Only heard fragments of it over the weekend, and when I did, my heart sank. I knew I had to hear what Keith had to say about it. I feel much better now that I have. He's right, of course.

I'm a First Amendment absolutist, but even absolutists don't defend shouting "fire" in a crowded theater when it's not on fire, and if we had absolute First Amendment protection for all speech we'd still have cigarette commercials and billboards. Oh, and we'd have kiddie porn too, wouldn't we?

Corporations are not people. It is not right for them to have the same First Amendment rights people do, no matter what Jonathan Turley says. We need to get a test case up there and fight this tooth and nail to get a ruling on corporate personhood that changes this. I would love to see a test case with someone trying to marry a corporation.

And it took guts for Keith not to hold back; he laid into Dan Abrams' dad but good. It's also obvious from what he said about this Comment on Daily Kos that he thought it was the one that might finally get him the hook. Obviously not, though.

Keep 'em coming, Keith. :loveya:
