2. Hi ralps!
Just got here myself. Got home from work about 10 minutes ago.

Maybe everyone else is hiding under the bed, trying to escape the Hatriots posting in GD and GDP. It's gotten even uglier, if that's possible.

6. Of course!
The Mike thread is one of the good threads.

I saw some stuff today those forums that were beyond the pale. One didn't last long, thank goodness, and the person was TS'd. I swear, though, that some DUers are painting Obama as worse than Bush. x(

7. Hi kids.
:hi: Sorry your dad is having a tough time, Rev. What's up?

I fear that Keith's not being in on a Thursday means the same for him.

As for me, my ears finally popped, so I am much happier. Just missing Keith. :-(

13. Yay! You popped!!
I'm so glad for you.

Dad wouldn't get out of bed, no matter what I did. He'd think about it, say OK, move a bit, then curl back up in a fetal position. I brought him some soup, and he did eventually eat some. But I had to call the nurses in to get him up, while I went in the other room and cried.

I wondered about Keith's dad, too.

Much Love! This can't be easy for you but you know what to do.

Rev Cheese walked along the shore of Gull Bay and watched the snow fall and thought about things.

No matter how hard she tried she couldn't get the picture of Brett in his Wrangler jeans out of her mind.

Also, I miss my orange cat, and pray that he's somewhere safe and warm (it was 3 degrees when I went home).

18. Oh god, Rev, I know what you mean.
When my mom was ill, I would put on my best face and do whatever she needed me to do, but I can't tell you how many times I cried when I was alone, or when I was talking to my sisters. Many many tears were shed. But you know what? Let those tears fall. I think it helps you to be strong when you ARE right there with your dad.

And as to that orange kitty, I hope he's safe and warm too.

21. It's like a little bit of him dies every day.
But here's a funny story:
He wasn't eating the baked beans, so I said to him, "beans, beans, the musical fruit.."
and he answered without blinking "the more you eat, the more you toot."
It's amazing what stays with them, and what doesn't. :)

and again, thanks.

28. LOL! That's great!
It is difficult to watch, though. I remember after my mom died, I was reading the running log my siblings and I wrote in as we took our turns staying with her. Reading it through, I looked at my siblings, and said, my god, it was like mom was living the last few years of her life being buffeted by strong winds, with all she was dealing with.

I miss her so much, but I also know that she is finally at peace, and I am grateful for that.

I hope, though, that you have your dad for a long time, and that he is able to keep a foot in the real world, for himself, and for you.

Alz. can be brutal for some. It may be more merciful to let him go, hopefully, in his sleep.

I think I need a nap or something.

37. Let us pray they are right and are wiser than we are.
I don't know. I understand Medicare, when first passed, was but a shadow of what it is today, and only became stronger. And now it's the third rail of politics. So, who knows? In 45 years or so the next couple of generations could be saying that about our health care system overall.

pretending to ride a bus as she flies in a private jet
complaining about questions Katie Couric never asked
talking about the need for leadership after she quit her job as governor
w/ an Op Ed in the Washington Post she didn't write along w/ facebook
postings that anybody w/ a brain knows she didn't write
bringing along a baby that she didn't have.

Sarah Palin and science ..... not so much

picture is before Trigg was born.

52. I do think that's bullshit, but I thought the assumption it was Bristol's was shameful.
Yeah, so we know she had one. We still don't know she had two.

For all we know, Sarah stole herself a baby from someone else.

I guess what I'm just trying to say is this: not all soft stomachs on teenagers are "baby bumps," and it's wrong to assume they are just to suit one's own political ends.
