So . . are we all going to throw the newsletter pages at halftime? . . .
. . . and lob a scrunched-up paper (or a house slipper) at the screen at the end of the show?

Quanlin has a picture we could use to signal each event:
~Paper-throwing after "Newsmakers": http://olbermann.org/ko/photo_detail.cfm?photos_id=207
~KO preparing for the final pitch: http://olbermann.org/ko/photo_detail.cfm?photos_id=246

Or will we just raise our glasses toward the screen as the closing music plays, and type "TO THE TIES THAT BIND!" --?

I like the idea of us doing something in unison.

1. kick -- Speak now, as this will quickly sink into obscurity.
Trying once more for a group reaction -- then I'm giving up. :-)

3. LOL - Thanks, Sydnie. Unfortunately, the anniversary was last Thursday...

. . . so we'll have to wait til next year at this time to inaugurate any anniversary rituals, I'm afraid.

(A much more historic ritual interjected itself, as it turned out.)

4. I think this is a cute idea

Let's just start implementing it on Monday.

Now... I need to find something to help along my battle cry of "Cue Beethoven's Ninth" and we'll be set for beginning and ending of show!

6. If only we could change the wording to "My love for COUNTDOWN is. . ." :-)
. . . BTW, I couldn't hear the music. Are you only supposed to be able to hear it when you get the card?

8. Dunno. I sent it to my son's addy to see if that was the case
It probably plays "Ode to Joy" out of the Ninth, because most of them do.

(Can you tell I played in a symphony orchestra, yet? I bet you'll never guess the instrument though.)

10. Nope.
Edited on Mon Apr-04-05 12:32 AM by Clark2008
I CAN play a French horn, a flute, an English horn, a trumpet and a trombone, but that wasn't my instrument of choice.

(I also play piano, guitar, dulcimer and a uke, but am so out of practice on them, I'd be very clumsy).

P.S. I'll give you a clue, it's the smaller cousin to the instrument Paul McCartney is holding on the cover of "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band" - an instrument I mentioned in this post.

(I really need to go back to work. I'm playing Blue's Clues with KOEBers. )

11. The answer is: you are an oboist . . .
. . . since Paul is holding an English horn.

12. You got it!!

:applause:

The most plaintive of the woodwind instruments.

For the record, I also liked Eeyore the best in the Winnie the Pooh series. :7

13. I'm impressed!-- that is a difficult instrument to play.
I just noodle around on guitar & piano. Whatever I can pick up by ear.

Can hardly read a note of music, tho I've tried to learn.

God, I love Google:

That's the music for the Second Movement of the Ninth Symphony.

There we go. Now, we are are official a fan club. We have a completed circle of beginning bumps, mid-tosses and end-throws.

;)
