Steph and AshleyMadison.com. I am not happy.
And if I didn't have to work all morning, I would have said so to her.

Sorry if this is OT for the KOEB, but a lot of us do listen to her so what the hey.

Taking money from scumbags (sorry to offend Keith's delicate sensibilities with that word if he's reading, but oh well) who run a dating Web site for married cheaters is hypocrisy of the worst kind, and listening to her and Chris Lavoie attempt to rationalize why it's OK to take their money ("It's not illegal," "It's a rotten economy, we have to get our money to stay on the air from somewhere") is even worse.

Especially when you consider that Steph has refused the advertising dollars of a dog food company that makes a food she thinks is unfit to feed her own dogs. Yeah, she's got her standards when it comes to dog food, but they apparently don't apply when it comes to helping cheating spouses cheat.

I really, really hope enough of her listeners complain that she dumps the sponsorship.

2. The dog food commercial would have required her to endorse it
& to do that, she would have to feed it to her dogs. Some people are really picky about what they feed their pups, & after the poison food from China a year or so ago, I too steer clear of certain brands.

And I'm with her: supply & demand. She needs the ad revenue & I know from the boards that I'm on & charities I'm involved with, ad budgets have been slashed almost 75%. In a better economy, she could easily turn them away.

3. Sorry, I think you have to draw the moral line somewhere.
And that is where I would draw it.

The analogy that she'd actually have to use the dog food doesn't work for me. Why couldn't she tell them she would accept prerecorded ads, so long as she didn't have to do them? Wouldn't that satisfy the shifty morality involved? If you want to rationalize who you take money from, you can always do it if you try.

I don't know. I could tell everyone a story here about why this frosts my personal beer stein, but there is no reason to let the Olbermann Watch boys any more into my life than they already know about. Suffice it to say, marital cheating is a personal moral issue for me, and it always will be--and if I were starving on the street and homeless, I wouldn't take a dollar from the sleazeball who runs this site.

It's gonna be there.

I'll make payroll with some other idiots peddling crap.

I mean, honestly. What next? Ads for Nevada brothels? Why not? I mean, it's not illegal...

Oh, and to edit: I'd rather go out of business than make payroll that way.
