As if I want to be reminded of the beautiful season the Cleveland Clowns are having so far.

The only good news is, they play the Bungles next week, and SOMEBODY has to win. (I just hope it's not Cincinnati.)

21. Back from Denver
and I'm proud to report, It's OBAMA country there. At least in the city.
The gallery owner's best friend works in Obama's campaign and he (gallery owner) was on the Democratic Convention floor. He said it was exhilarating, but not just because of Obama, because of the palpable power of the people. It was in the air. It's what they (Rs) are most afraid of.

How much like the 'shock doctrine' is this financial meltdown? So freaking scary.

There was a Sara Palin look a like on my plane going out, like a clone, including the hair style and the glasses. Everyone was staring, and nobody looked pleased to see her.

53. I had a great time. Just wonderful
Except for the altitude induced stuff. One of the other artists was from California, we were both never without a bottle or a glass of water, the altitude gives you such a case of dry mouth.

Go Meredith. I'm really starting to like that woman!!!!

Dusty does have a malignancy in her little nose, but we are determined not to give up. She's still eating and playful and breathing better since the acupuncture. The only thing the vets recommend is radiation, I'm not putting her through that, they don't even think it'll work and could possibly hurt her more, also expected to cost $5 to 6 thousand dollars which we couldn't swing, no way, no how.

75. Yes, already sent for some immune support tonic especially for kitties.
I'm cooking an organic turkey for her right now because she likes the broth and I've got to put some meat back on her and keep her hydrated.
So far, she's eating and keeping everything down and her eye (which looked terrible before her nose scope) looks better too.

78. Our kitty,
Boo, had a malignant tumor in his ear for years and years. It appeared one day, and although it flared up every once in a while, he went on for years and years after. His kidneys failed at 16 before the tumor got him.

All my love to you and Dusty.

85. Thank you for that Patsy. That's kind of what I'm hoping for, something she can
live with and we can keep from growing larger and causing her any pain of course. The tumor is in a very tricky place. If it grows any larger it could hurt her eye and her brain, so we are guardedly optimistic we can turn this around.

My foot has hurt worse since surgery than it did when I broke it. So staying quiet and trying to not think of the pain as I count down every 4 hours to the next pain pill dose while keeping it up as high as humanly possible. I also really hate seeing bumps where pins and screws are sticking out.

Edited to add- am also trying to train myself not to faint when the doc unwraps it on the 29th.

139. I called the doc today to be sure it
was suppose to hurt this bad. He said if I start running out he will call in a refill. I would rather it stop. I will get through this. Hoping it stops on the pain part soon. Bad enough he tried to scare my mom and Terry. Told them even one small bump could undo all the work he did in surgery. I guess I really messed it up and can live with that. Just since I tend to avoid hurting myself never really been through it so silly me thought it would feel better once it was on the mend. Actually feeling a bit better now that I was told it is normal to hurt more. I worried something came undone and would have to repeat surgery. So truthfully pain or not doing better mentally today that over the weekend.

38. Please let McCain have an all out meltdown temper tantrum
BEFORE the election. Let's blow this myth right out of the water that this election is anywhere near close. I was with twentysomethings and thirtysomethings all weekend and every single one and everyone they know is completely aware of what liars and crooks McCain and Palin are. If they would just figure out some way to poll young people who are registered to vote reliably, we'd have more than enough proof.

I have no doubt the polls are BS, but I don't mind because if it appeared to be a blowout, there wouldn't be as much enthusiasm. Plus, imagine how much fun it will be watching the talking heads on election night trying to explain why they were so very wrong.

74. I recall Election Night 2006
& all the MSNBC pundits sitting around looking stunned....along comes Chris Matthews acting surprised that the Dems have won so handily & the expressions on the faces of the pundits (including Nora & Tucker) said it all: Where the fuck have you been all night, Chris?

52. I'm with you, Bun-Bun!
:hi: And bonjour to you, Wolvie and ralps!

I like the idea of bailing INDIVIDUALS out. The corporations are what made this mess, and we're going to bail them out?!?

Yes, some people did borrow way beyond their means...but part of the reason for that was the mortgage-pushers hanging around their playground saying "Psst! First one's free, kid!"

Besides, there are people stuck in this who just wanted a HOUSE, period. Not an expensive one, a modest one. But they thought they'd have to rent all their lives. But somewhere along the line, someone told them "Oh noooooo...you can afford to buy...here's how we'll do it..."

It's horrible.

You said it Keith. I ran that one past my McCain in the Membrane mom last week, who is watching her retirement savings being flushed down the market everyday in the market and she was speechless when she stopped to think, hey, wait a minute, that's actually true. Before this, she kept telling me she couldn't vote for Obama because he was going to raise her capitol gains tax and the tax on stock dividends. He wasn't, but its kind of moot now, since both are fast doing a disappearing act.

81. By the way, just a little tidbit.
My sister in law tells me there is a gas shortage in TN, I mean NO GAS, blamed on the hurricanes somehow messing with the Houston supply line. Things that make you go hmmmmm? Somehow or other, this doesn't make the paper, although I'm glad, I wouldn't want it to start a panic among the gas addicted public. Its probably just a made up way of covering for an increase in gas prices once the 'shortage' in the supply gets sorted out.
