Tonight on Countdown
------------------------------------------------------

A White House official said Friday the administration finds it ``somewhat puzzling'' that Democrats are demanding presidential adviser Karl Rove's apology or resignation for implying that liberals are soft on terrorism. ``I think Karl was very specific, very accurate, in who he was pointing out,'' communications director Dan Bartlett said. ``It's touched a chord with these Democrats. I'm not sure why.'' http://www.guardian.co.uk/worldlatest/story/0,1280,-5095929,00.html

Tom Cruise was all smiles talking about his movie and his fiancee on NBC's "Today" show, but the smile disappeared when Matt Lauer mentioned Cruise's earlier criticism of Brooke Shields for taking anti-depressants. Cruise got very serious and kept saying "Matt, Matt, Matt, Matt" every time Lauer said he knew people who were helped by anti-depressants. He also told Lauer, "You don't know the history of psychiatry. I do." http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8344309/

As the Rev. Billy Graham opens his final American crusade Friday in New York City, the man with the best seat will be his son and successor, Franklin Graham. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8232360/

Keith's Favorite Five.

That's some of what we're planning for tonight's show.

Finally,
A Quincy woman who apparently stuffed $46,950 in cash in her bra before trying to board a plane to Texas for plastic surgery has sued a federal agency, demanding the return of her money. She told authorities she was heading to Texas for plastic surgery on her buttocks and breasts. She says a male Drug Enforcement Administration agent told her she had a nice body and didn't need surgery - and then seized the cash, claiming it was drug money. http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/S/STUFFED_BRA?SITE=NWCN&TEMPLATE=STRANGEHEADS.html&SECTION=HOME

Have a great weekend.

4. Excuse me, but Dan Bartlett doesn't understand
what KKKarl said that touched a chord with the Democrats?

What a fucking maroon!!

BTW, hold down the fort for me tonight. My guy is taking me to a fancy-schmancy restaurant (check out this menu! http://www.volunteertv.com/Global/story.asp?S=1504413) and I won't be around for the 8 p.m. showing.

I do have to pick up my son at 11 p.m., so we may watch the midnight showing (HA!).

:hi: to you all and :loveya: to Keith!

14. The 32-year-old
He's the one who was born in South Africa was raised in Brooklyn and Boston and moved down here when he was a teenager. Then he was in the Army as a Russian translator (my toes curl when he speaks Russian to me - :loveya:)
We had a great time at dinner: I had the lamb and he had the pan-seared duck. We had duck potstickers and crab dip with pita bread for appetizers and blackened pudding with cinnamon ice cream for dessert. Oh, and he brought me flowers! :loveya:

Today, he's taking my son and me to Chuckie Cheese for a late lunch/early dinner (and before it gets TOO overrun with tons of kids).

He's just dreamy, btw.

you went through such a lousy patch there that it's really nice to hear things are so much better now. This guy sounds like a keeper. Anyone who's willing to endure Chuckie Cheese is a brave soul indeed. :-)

16. LOL!
I told him the same thing. We went during the day, so it wasn't too bad. We ended up going earlier than expected because he got done helping his Mom mulch earlier. We had lunch there and it wasn't packed with little rug rats. :)

Then, after playing games for an hour or two, we stopped by the grocery store, picked up some steaks and corn and grilled out for dinner. I made breakfast for the whole gang this morning (and, not to worry. I have a den with a futon. He slept in there so Ramzey wouldn't "think" anything. But, since we were drinking, there was no way I was going to make him drive home.)

He didn't go to his house all weekend and told me he had to go home to make sure his roommate hadn't destroyed the whole place. LOL! They rent a nice little house on the other side of town.

extent). I hope his house was intact when he got home.

want Ramzey wandering in... you know.

7. "living in the tropics."
That phrase reminds me of one of the stupidest things I ever heard my sister say. Let me explain (or vent). LOL

When my brother was in Vietnam, my father was a DJ on a local radio station. He was well known. This rival station had a thing where they played three hours worth of music dedicated to a single soldier, made a tape of the music and all the call ins by family and friends sending good thoughts and well wishes for him in combat, then they would send the tape to the soldier. As a "stick it to my father" thing, they chose my brother for one of those broadcasts. Not only would they get my father and our family to listen, they would get his fans to listen and call in for my brother.

Anyway, when my sister called in, (she always was a bit of a snob, even for our family) she had the nerve to tell my brother that if he could "think of his time in Vietnam as being abroad rather than over seas, he might fair better mentally". I remember even then thinking, she has got to get better tethered to reality really soon.

That comment reminds of that same snobbish mind fuck kind of comment and it makes me throw up in my mouth, just a bit.

Kiss my ass Dick ... in the tropics indeed!

</end rant thanks for listening>

13. Great story, Syd!
and I personally would NOT want to live "in the tropics"...especially detained in a prison that I might have been thrown into for no reason at all!

Or because I was fighting in a war started for dubious reasons either!

Sheesh!
