10. The story you are going to hear about the Cuyahoga election tomorrow is about the damn tabs

on the paper ballots.

ALL the ballots were paper. They were long and unwieldly, but, aside from that, easy for me to use. I don't know how easy they were for people less used to filling in bubbles like they're taking the SAT.

Things I thought were strange:

I was never asked to sign the poll book.

Although I am not party affiliated, I asked for a Dem ballot and was handed one, no questions asked. I expected to at least be advised that if I were to vote Dem, I would be a registered Dem, and did I realize that? No one mentioned this.

Then there was the infamous tab which the poll workers at 7:50 this morning told us to remove from our completed ballots before sliding them into the cardboard box. I questioned this, because the tabs said "YOUR VOTE WILL NOT BE COUNTED IF THIS TAB IS REMOVED." The poll worker muttered something back at me like, "Umthisishowwedoit."

I gave up, ripped the tab off, handed it to her and filed my ballot. Thinking, "I hope to God I didn't just disenfranchise myself thanks to having to get to work and not having time to argue the logic of this with an undereducated poll worker."

Fortunately, I have seen on the Plain Dealer Web site that yes, there has been confusion and miseducation about the tabs and the decision has been made to count ALL ballots, with and without the tabs. THANK GOD.

73. It's going full tilt in Milwaukee.

I was at Dad's yesterday and today. Since the news broke at 8:30 a.m., it's been non-stop Brett coverage on the Milwaukee stations. But when I got to Green Bay, I stopped at Bed, Bath and Beyond. I asked the clerk if the ground shook and the sky darkened. She rolled her eyes and said "it's only football." :wow:

Then I went to the sports memorabilia shop in the mall. They were busy, but the owner & I talked. She said she had a huge crowd all day - with lots of people who skipped work to come in, and kids who skipped school, just to try to get some Brett autographs. Now they're sold out, but they're taking orders for autographs on photos w/50% down, and the rest when they get the merchandise. If Brett isn't going to sign anymore, then they'd return the money. The minimum order is around $300.

They have lots of Bart Starr stuff available. :)

128. OK, here's how the districts in Ohio have gone so far (about 70% of vote counted)

District 1 went for Obama about 60-40%
District 3 went for Obama 52-46%
District 11 (with the most delegates) went for Obama 65-34%

2, 5, 6, 8, 13, 14 and 16 are still barely counted. Barely 20% of the vote has been counted there.

As for the other districts, it's all Hillary--either 60something percent to 40something percent, 50something percent to 40 or 30something percent, or even 70something percent to 20something percent.

Adding: Hillary KILLED in Dennis's district. In case anyone was counting on his alleged super-liberal constituency to carry Obama.
