Dan Patrick talked about this today. Said that she's good friends with Tiger Woods and she actually talked to him about it and apologized in addition to doing an on-air apology. That was going to be the end of it...until Al Sharpton put his two cents in. She only got the two-week suspension because Al Sharpton was going to make a big stink and picket The Golf Channel if they didn't do something to punish her.

I think what was done to Don Imus was right, because his statement was just the last straw in a long line of offensive things he'd said and done and gotten away with for years. But I get the impression this woman is not like that and she just didn't think before a very stupid word popped out of her mouth. I think she truly did not mean it, was not trying to be hip or edgy or anything--it was pure accident. Like I don't think Howard Cosell meant anything when he said "Look at that little monkey run" or whatever he said. He might have said the same thing about a white guy. It just wasn't smart. She apologized. It could have been over. But then Al Sharpton had to move in and threaten to make hay.

What if Keith said something some night that sounded just as bad? Would you think Keith meant it? Would you think Keith should be fired?
