Betty Broderick: Why I think she should be pardoned...
I have been watching the Deadly Women marathon today on Investigation Discovery. They just had the Betty Broderick story on. This was a woman who was pushed and taunted and mentally tortured by the people she would eventually murder. Personally, I think the people she murdered pushed her into what she did.
She will never be paroled because she will never feel remorse for what she did. Neither would I, to be perfectly honest. If I were the governor or the President, I'd probably pardon her. She worked hard putting her husband through school, only to be spat on like she didn't matter when he became a millionaire. This is the perfect example of the mentality of the republicans/1%ers who just don't understand the real world. They made her look crazy, even though she was not. She was a hard working mom who was pushed to the brink.
I have a really hard time feeling bad for people who bully bully bully people and make their victims finally snap and shoot them or fight back.

2. Regardless of how
wronged she was, she had no right to blow their brains out.

It makes me angry that her husband treated her badly before and after the divorce, but that is no excuse for Betty doing what she did.

3. You can only back someone into a corner for so long before they fight back.
They made her crazy. While I don't think her blowing their brains out was the answer, necessarily, but she snapped and at that point, it was the only way she saw out of the world she was stuck in. She should not be held responsible for it, as she was CRAZY when it happened. And her victims drove her crazy.

4. She was not crazy -- just a narcissistic overgrown brat
who blamed her "craziness" on those who refused to enable her refusal to face the reality of her marriage ending.
