Blessing of the Worlds Waters at UN
Thoght this might be of interest in this forum.

March 22, 2005 at the United Nations in New York.

A Blessing of the Worlds Waters at United Nations

The  Blessing ceremony held on World Water Day marks the opening of the United Nations International Decade of Action Water For Life 2005-2015.  Representatives of many different religious and indigenous traditions will offer prayers, and blessings for the Earth’s waters.  Invited guests include representatives of the Apache, Iroquois, Hopi, Lakota and Taino peoples.  The public is invited to come and support this very special event.

The Blessing will be held in the visitor’s lobby of United Nations Headquarters in New York City.  Between 1:15 and 2:45 p.m.
The ceremony will  also include a message from United Nation’s Secretary General Kofi Annan, and blessings, in poem form, read by school children from
the region.  Many of the prayers and blessings will be incorporated into works being produced by an international group of artists for display at the United Nations later this year.

This Blessing would not have happened if it weren't for Christopher Swain, warrior for the Earth Mother and his mission to call attention to the conditions of the waters.  Christopher's fight for clean water and extraordinary swims for this cause have put him in the position to create and coordinate this event. Go to www.swimforcleanwater.org to read about his swims.  It will make your heart sing to see what he does.

It is a very special privilege to have Elders of this country come and Bless the waters, it requires a  tremendous amount of grass roots effort to raise the funds for air tickets, gas monies, housing and food for all these people who are leaving their homes to come make an effort to better our global situation.   So I am making an appeal to any of you who have a few extra bucks, to send it to Christopher's organization Swim for Clean Water, 115 North Union St. Unit A - Burlington, VT  05401, every little bit will help and to be part of this project Blessing the Worlds Waters we know is a powerfully good thing.

Please give contact information so acknowledgement can be made and also note on it FOR THE BLESSING OF THE WATERS, so it doesn't get mixed up with swim donations.  Air miles and reward points will also help out. The event is in 7 days. You can call the number below if you would like the opportunity to help make this Blessing happen.

We know the power of prayer and intention, so if you can, please join the ceremony through the ethers Tuesday March 22 from 1:15pm 2:45pm EST.
I'm sure you all join in thanking Christopher for creating this wonderful opportunity to infuse the Mother Earth"s waters with Loving Energy, Prayers and Blessings from around the world. We must take responsibility for the future of the Earth and all who inhabit her.
