at what age will you let your children dance/drum
i've been asked already...by a couple of dance troupes...but they are only 7 and 9 years old...and boy getting together the regalia might be a little pricey...but i guess the time will come soon...

anybody dance or drum?

1. my woman child started at 3
as did her cousin. they loved it til they became teenagers. good times.

6. Mine didn't cost anything....
The classes that were being given for leather work and button robes, where making regalia for the youth dancers, so most of our gear was like a hand me down uniform so to speak...I didn't get my own button robe until i graduated high school.....

5. I started dancing when I was 8....
My mother made me start dancing when i was 8, in the 3rd grade...I never drummed, or sang...but I danced. I spent most of my time with carving, painting, and my shotty bead work...but alas, i gave up my bead work...:)

7. i guess i should call the ak native heritage center
or my neice...she danced there last year...i want my son to dance (drum?) this summer...
