The complexity of our enormous government actually makes it easier for the powerful
and connected to game the system for their benefit.

From the unfathomable dollars to the overly-complex legislation they create, we the people really do not stand a chance.

So, how about we push for simplifying the entire thing? Break up the "too-big-to-fail" corporations into manageable and controllable parts. Limit legislation to common language that addresses ONE issue at a time.

Then we might be able to get back to government of, by and for the people.

1. I think you have nailed it, our government is enormous
If the size of the federal government were smaller then most federal issues would be at state level and therefore big business would have a rather large diverse target to lobby.

If most federal programs were moved to state level from education to social security then we would be able to reach out and touch the lawmakers much easier than a powerful lobby could as it is today.
