getting back out in the dating game...internet style
what is the protocol? are there any rules anymore?
guys care to make any comments on the above book?
hope everybody out there is doing okay....

If he tries to weasel you into calling him instead of directly asking for your number, and using it: don't. It's an invitation to being yanked around.

I think he was pretty close, if not right on. Just keep in mind that it's a book, not the Ultimate Truth.

I haven't done internet dating yet, so I can't say anything definitive about that. I'm probably not the most qualified to be giving relationship advice, either. But, what I do know about dating is that desperation makes a horrible cologne, and you probably don't want to start anything serious with those who like it. Be honest about what you're looking to get out of the relationship, but don't assume that they will be equally honest, or even know what it is that they want. Most importantly, be honest with yourself about everything, and enjoy what you've got.

3. My initial impressions
are that it sucks. It's institutionalized rejection. It esp. sucks if you're the guy because WE'RE the ones who are supposed to do the hunting which means lots of winks and e-mails with no response.
