Democrat fundraising letter
I get more pissed every day with all the fund raising calls and letters. I know we're looking at an impending shitstorm, but why waste time and money going after non-responsive prospects? I screen my calls and trash the email that sounds like BS. When I get something in regular mail, I'll take a look and it mostly hits the recycling round file.

Todays fund raising letter just pissed me off so here's my response.

Dear Dr. Dean,

I cannot emphasize too strongly how important the political situation in this country is today.
It is apparent to anyone paying attention that the soul of the nation is at risk. I don't hold any idealistic belief that we were ever a nation governed by the people in their own interest. Money and power rule in their own interest ,the people be damned. It is for this reason that I can't contribute to the party. The party leadership has shown, since the 2006 election especially, that they either don't know how to wield the reigns of power, don't respect the concepts of our Constitution, or are more concerned with maintaining their own position than doing what is right.
I applaud your 50 state strategy. It has done well to show that the nation is not divided by geographical or idealogical boundaries. Unfortunately, it appears that the party leadership and national representatives lose touch with reality once inside the Beltway. The majority of the country understands that we are in dire straits and have some good ideas on how to change the situation. It seems that the party “leadership” on both sides have become deaf to the will and the needs of the people.
I understand fully that it takes money to grease the wheels of the media machines to get the message out. A truly smart “leadership” would understand that and find an alternate delivery system or do a better “sound bite” on the major media. If your most recent appearance on Ed Shultz's show is any indication, the party, and the country, has little hope. The party has failed to understand that they face two adversaries. The opposition party has proved themselves to be very skilled at perception management and the corporate media eats it up in the name of higher ratings and profit. The only way to beat that BS is to stand for what you believe in and prove it by your actions.
During the last few election cycles I have only supported candidates that have a proven record or have impressed me with their view on important issues. The party has consistently supported more moderate or “electable” candidates when their views didn't reflect the interest of the party or the nation.

My money is going to candidates I trust and believe in because I need the best bang for my buck. If the party would like my monetary contribution they have to show me I'm going to get some ROI. I haven't seen that so far.

Sincerely,

tech3149

PS: I'd post the fund raising letter, but I don't have time to scan it.

1. I always send them a penny.
I tape it to the "other" space in the donation request.

2. Thanks, I think I'll find a token and tape it to the letters that I get from
Shumer.
