Soros Group Raises Stakes in Battle with US Neo-Cons
George Soros is my HERO! He and other billionaires are pumping mega bucks into progressive causes in an effort to combat the conservative ascendancy! :bounce::bounce:

snip - At a meeting in San Francisco last month, the left-leaning billionaires agreed to commit an even larger sum over a longer period to building institutions to foster progressive ideas and people.

Far from being disillusioned by the defeat of John Kerry, the Democratic presidential candidate, the billionaires have resolved to invest further in the intellectual future of the left, one person involved said. - snip

1. This is what Scaife and company knew
30 years ago, so we are late to the party... I can see the rise of Think Tanks now... and about bloody time!

2. O Hallelujah
They have finally seen the light, and it comes from Information, Knowledge, and Understanding.

The nutcase right created a powerful structure to foster their ideas in the media and government. The left has not come anywhere close to doing the job the right has in pushing its agenda. This is exactly what we must do if we are going to remain relevant.

Soros...the Anti-Scaife.

3. I praying that part of the plan is a new left television network.
There's no way we can start educating people without MSM access.

5. He should,
but I don't know how he'd pull it off. I'm sure he and the other investors have enough money, but the Repuke powers that be would do everything under the sun to block such a move. What an awesome idea though! :toast:

8. Even better - Soros with a consortium of musicians
Hey, there's lots of rich musicians out there who put a priority on the music, and it's not like it'd be a bad investment for them. Can you imagine the ad campaign for that one? The image i get is Tom Petty snarling about being sick of corporate crap while Neil Young stomps the camera, but perhaps you'd have your own favorite.

6. actually if they could just get air america over to FM
that would help. AM sucks. Drive time FM morning or evening is how you get the ear of suburban working people.
