I did hills today. I haven't been over there in 2-3 months. It was so nice to workout outside! The squirrels & birds were out & although a bit breezy, by hill #3, I peeled my top layers off. I also upped my weight belt to 12#. Last time I did hills I used 8#, but I've been consistent with my step workouts & have gone from 4" step to 6" step & thought the extra 4# in the belt would be good. I was right. A great workout!

Oh, & did I tell you? I'm starting to see some bicep definition. Looks awesome with the tricep definition I've had for awhile now. Next goal -- a little bit of shoulder definition! I suspect the inner thigh definition will come last. ;)

So what did you do?

3. It looked to be about 6 or 7 inches
I hope we're done for the year. Yeah, that's a lot to ask being that we're not even out of February, but honestly... I'm ready for spring.

4. Ran/walked my 7 miles
Also did 1 hour of upper body weights yesterday since it wasn't icy like it was supposed to be in the morning. I hope to walk tomorrow, it's supposed to be nice and sunny!

I'm going to a work related conference Monday and Tuesday so I probably won't do much those days due to the time it's going to take me to get there (not far enough for the company to pay for a hotel so it's over an hour drive excluding any traffic problems). :( However I do have one of those exercise balls that came with a tape so I might try that quickly in the morning just to do something.

5. 4 miles with my Team in Training group
Still the beginning of the season, so the group runs are short.

We had a nice stretching clinic afterwards.

What are you doing on the hills with weights?

6. About a year ago I bought a weighted belt.
I needed to add some om-ph to my hill walking & I didn't want to run & adding more hills would make my hour long workout even longer. I'd seen some weighted vests, but they were expensive & I was worried that covering my core with a vest & weights would make me too hot in the summer. Then I stumbled across this:

It has 10 pockets that each hold a two pound sand sack. I started with 6 pounds & have slowly moved up to 12. It's wonderful! It's very comfortable. I do get hot around the mid-section, so I'm really glad I didn't get the vest. Also on days when I don't feel like my knees are up for a 6" step workout, I go to 4" & wear the belt. It's been one of my best fitness investments. Although it does make me look fat around the middle! ;)
