Wednesday, 9/19: I worked out today--did you?
Hi gang :hi:

glad to be back after missing the last few days.

This morning I did 30 minutes on the ellipitcal and then I did a totally different workout than I normally do. I avoided the weight room and went into one of the exercise studios by myself. I did a combination of free-weights, stability ball, ab work, etc... and tried to work a little bit of every major muscle group. I'm going to call this workout my "Biggest Loser" workout because that's what inspired me (last night's show).

I'll tell you, for all the months I spent using the weight machines, I have some pretty weak muscles. Even 5 lb. free-weights seemed like a lot for some of these exercises. When I showered, my arms were sore when I lifted them to wash my hair. I think I may be onto something here....

so... what about you guys?

1. I walked a mile
on the treadmill today. That makes three days in a row this week. :woohoo:

I'm trying to get up to walking/jogging the treadmill in the mornings and yoga in the evening and seeing if that helps.

I'm also considering sledgehammer guy. :D

3. "everyday" workouts
the workout I did yesterday (the one that has me so sore today) was inspired by one of the Biggest Loser trainers who believes that working out shouldn't have to involve a lot of fancy equipment. She has her team lifting each other and using everyday items just as tires and logs and things like that to increase their heart rates and build muscles.

The manager at my gym is pretty impressed with her.

So, given her theories, and the endorsement from the manager at my gym.... I think the sledgehammer guy is onto something.

2. One hour in the corporate fitness room
with my swim coach as trainer.

Free weights, weight machines, those heavy balls and that big ball.
