Daily Exercise Thread - 2/23/2005
I guess I'm first to check in.

Leg day (I missed my weekend leg day). Nothing spectacular to report.

No cardio on leg day. Legs hurt. Legs too tired.

1. deadlifts and grip
Warm up with a set of Janda situps
4 sets of deadlifts up to 260
worked the grippers while in the car. First time I've worked them in 3 months and was able to close the #1 for 3 reps

4. Are those the Captains of Crush?
Are you using the Ironmind CoC grippers? Those kick ass. I have a trainer and have to get around to ordering the #1.

If you're doing Jandas, DL's, and grip work, check out my post on the apartment equipment thread.

7. Yes, Ironmind grippers rock

I have the trainer, #1, and #2. I'm getting ready to order the #3. I think you should have the next level higher than the one you are attempting to close. Since I can do reps on the #1 now I need the 2 to work with.

I have a small KB and will probably be moving up to by getting one of the adjustable ones. I can't see spending the amount of money necessary to get a set of the ones from dragondoor.
One cheap alternative to a KB for someone interested but not sure if they want to spend the bucks is to get a 25lb Olympic plate that has the handle cutouts. Like this

It works good enough for snatches and swings until you decide if it's the right thing for you.

2. I didn't do anything today.
Bad girl! Lesson being, if I have a meeting after work, I need to do something BEFORE work. Packed my walking shoes and was all ready to try to sneak in a walk at lunch or after work but then I just got busy.

On the bright side, I went ahead and signed up for the MS150! So now I have to really get off my ass! :D

5. aha! so you're going for it!!!
I was too ambivalent to post a reply to your query -- in my eyes you are already Superwoman, and I figured you'd know whether it was possible/advisable for you to do "more."

Way to go & happy riding! I just bought a bike a couple of weeks ago and am mostly just getting used to biking on the roads here in Houston. No 150's for me this year... but maybe a couple of "sprint" tri's.

I have been *completely* sedentary for like two years. The only thing I got goin' for me is I know what I *can* do 'cause I've done it before .... but right now I feel more like Couch Potato Woman. :P
