Wednesday, 9/28: I worked out today--did you?
:hi: good morning gang!

I had my 3rd session w/ the Fitness Center's own assassin: Shelley, who teaches the spinning class.

All kidding aside: it was a great workout!


I also went into the weight room for tricep, lat and pec machines and I did my usual knee work.


What does your workout consist of today?

1. I'll be doing cardio later today
It will be tough after leg day monday. DOMS are setting in pretty good in my legs. I'm shooting for 45 minutes on elliptical.

2. Hi MissMillie!
I decided to come back to exercise and come back to this group because I have so much stress in my life (the world sitch, ya know) that if I don't start doing something wonderful for myself my head's gonna fall off or something.

So I've been doing some yoga on and off and today I signed up for a 10-day introductory series at a hot yoga place. It was pretty intense! Plus, I was there at, like 6:00 am -- which is INCREDIBLY early for me! Anyway, I was mostly able to keep up and anyway just getting there is good in my book -- so I am very proud of myself. :hi:

I've never done hot yoga before, but I've been practicing yoga for almost a decade and am always pushing it as a great part of a fitness program.

9. I really like yoga.
I started with just a generic Hatha yoga class when I was in college. After that I did Iyengar intermittently. I really like just working into a pose and holding it. It's so soothing and meditative. Now, the yoga place that's very near my house has Vinyasa classes, which I enjoy because it's very interesting, all that flowing from one pose to the other, and that teacher is very spiritual and does a lot of interesting readings of the yoga sutra and teachings and so on during savasana. Of course, I like all the woo-woo stuff. :7

I don't quite know what to think about the hot yoga place yet. The heat is certainly very powerful, but I don't quite know what to think about the style yet. The whole experience kind of reminds me of going to the gym -- it's certainly not a conventional yoga experience. :P

4. Walked/ran three miles.
Woke up with a horrible headache (due to the neck problem) but once I got out in the fresh air and started moving, I felt a lot better.

14. Rode home in 105-degree temp. Yikes!
Needless to say, I went the shorter way on the highway -- 12.8 miles. It's supposed to be cooler tomorrow! :)
