Tuesday, 9/27: I worked out today--did you?
:hi: good morning!

I did 35 minutes on the elliptical machine (the hill climbing program, ugh!) and then I went into the weight room for chest press, shoulder press, leg abductor, leg adductor, and then my usual ab work.

Tomorrow is my regular session w/ the fitness center's hit-man: spinning class.

How are you folks doing today? What are you folks doing today?

1. I did kick boxing, pilates & yoga this morning.
I increased the length of my kick boxing workout & I am really feeling it in my butt & legs. In a good way today, but who knows how I will feel tomorrow.

2. I'm going to try an elliptical tomorrow for first time
Any suggestions? I have a slight pull in my calf muscle, do you think it will be ok?

3. It may be ok
It's my understanding that depending on what incline you set the machine at, you can control which muscles are getting the primary workout. You may want to check the machine to see if there's a way to set it so that you're working your glutes and your quads, and less of the lower leg.

Check w/ the staff at your gym. They should be able to help you.

If the elliptical is a no-go, you might try swimming.

Let me know how it works out.

7. Did 4 miles of hills on the treadmill.
Have to curtail my upper-body workouts until I have an MRI on my neck on Monday. I'm having lots of problems with tingling, numbness and weakness still on my left side following my car accident last month.

My doctor even took me out of physical therapy this week until they can get an MRI. :(

I did the aerobics of Step Jam and the upper body section of Basic Step + Body Fusion. :-)

BTW, MissMillie, I took that quiz you posted in the Lounge < http://www.realage.com>, and it ADDED years to my life because it said I worked out *too* much. Go figure!

10. Yes!! FINALLY!
I went 30 minutes on the elliptical and feel so good for doing it now! God I hate these stupid mind games you play with yourself about working out, coming up with excuses etc.
It never seems to fail that after I actually do it I feel so good. I love it but forget it so quickly as well.
Anyway, day 1 on a long road back again......
