Wednesday, May 4: I worked out today--did you?
I jogged 2 miles today and did the upper body work in the strength room. I cut out the ab work as I needed to be at my desk to monitor an electronic exam that my boss's students are taking.

Today, my run felt terrible. I wasn't really in any pain, but my whole body felt tired, from start to finish. Any thoughts on what this might be and how to avoid it?

1. Keep it up MissMillie
I know how it is to have those bad running days. I wish I could tell you what causes this but I haven't figured it out. I guess it could be so many things.

I've had those days when I just feel tired the whole time. Stopping or walking goes through my mind and then I evaluate the situation, realize that I'm not in pain and then decide to work through it. I usually feel pretty good after the run, no matter how bad I felt during.

I don't eat before running in the morning and I've suspected the lack of nutrition as the source of my exhaustion on morning run days. It's a give and take, I get the side stitch much less frequently when running in the am on an empty stomach than in the afternoon after a moderate lunch. It also could be sleep related. Of course, I'm just guessing here.

3. Sorry about your fatigue
I won't venture to guess what it is since I'm not really a runner (yet!....? one day I may start up again) but Alleve helps me when I'm feeling as you describe.

Today I did Rhythmic Step and the abs portion of CTX Power Circuit.

6. Yup chest day.
With an injured lower back I'm shelving the usual whole-body exercises in favor of isolation stuff for a week or three, and taking it easy. Did chest stuff, and a bunch of cardio.
