Monday 4/25: I worked out today--did you?
I had to do my run here at home today (well, at the track at the high school) so I didn't get to the gym and I didn't get any of my usual upper body stuff done.

That said, I did increase my run by .25 miles as promised. It was a 2.25 mile run today.

1. Taking a rest day today
That's great that you're up to 2.25 miles! I have been running 2 miles but I think i'm going to start doing 3 miles this week. I'm going to try to run another 5k soon and I think I could do better if I worked up to 4 miles once a week or so.

You're doing great MissMillie! 2.25 miles is not easy to do.

3. Chest & Back, then 30 mins on the elliptical
sadly sauna was out today -- some kind of power problem in the locker room!

6. Yes.
Ran for 1/2 hour, then did strength and flexibility for an hour, then did another 15 min on the stair machine. The stair machine is new for me, so in the interest of being able to walk tomorrow, I kept it light to start.

9. I watched a treadmill catch on fire--did you?
it was wacky. The power cable was corroding away and the motor just started sparking and caught on fire and there was a lot of smoke. The guy on it didn't even know right away until someone yelled. It stopped as soon as they turned it off.

I was like 10 feet away. interesting stuff...

But I did manage to work out on the elliptical for 45 minutes.

10. 7000 steps, a.m. yoga and a torn ACL.
The last one came really randomly; I was getting off the bus and suddenly heard (and felt) pop-pop-pop-pop and my knee ceased to be supportive. I must have moved in just the wrong way.... So, needless to say, I did not take my evening walk and get my last 1.5 miles in.

It was the good knee. (F#%^, F#$%, F$%&!!!!!!!!!!!) The bad knee is now the somewhat better knee, and is taking up the slack, so both are hurting a lot. Xrays showed the meniscus is still pretty stable though torn, but I need an MRI to check the ligaments. (And more vicodin.)

So I'm on 72 hours rest with it. I am so mad at my loose joints and apparent lack of anything even remotely related to collagen I could spit. There are times when being ultra-flexible is a bad thing.....
