This is what helped me stick to my diet....
I bought diet management software for my Palm.
This really helped me calculate my daily caloric intake.
My portion sizes were way too big... I now have a
better idea of how to gauge how much I'm really eating.
Also the Palm application has you set a goal and tells you
how many fewer calories you have to eat per day in order
to reach your goal by a certain date! Very motivating.
It calculates calories burned by excercise too.
It also graphs your wieghtloss. Plus my Palm is ALWAYS
with me so I have a constant reminder to stick with the plan.
There are some problems with the application....adding in
foods that are not in the app, no desktop version for the mac,
keeping track can be time consuming, etc.

Anyway, this helped me so I thought I'd pass it along.

1. Great suggestion!
I don't have a Palm, though. Do you know of similar software for the PC? I have my laptop with me a lot so that would work pretty well for me. Thanks!

3. Fitday
The website fitday.com offers a free online calorie tracker, or you can download their PC software for $19.95. It works pretty well, and I use the PC version to keep an eye on calories...

4. One of my faves!
I use the daily exercise tracker there, too. Works out great, as you log your food & exercise & can pull reports to see if you are burning the calories you are consuming. You can also pull reports to make sure that you are getting all the nutrients you need - and you can include custom goals like specific amount of protein and/or fiber as daily goals. Very cool site!
