So, what birds can you hear from where you are now?

Just heard one of the song sparrows that lurk around here through the kitchen window.

1. I was probably in my cubicle when you posted this, but

I'm sitting in my livingroom by the window watching the day break right now. The first bird I hear this morning is a house finch, probably the one who has a nest under my second floor deck. Now I hear a hairy woodpecker, a house wren, a scrub jay, a spotted towhee and someone's rooster. :)

We have a lot of song sparrows around but I don't hear one at the moment.

2. I can tell you what I could hear earlier. It's dark now.

Red Bellied Woodpecker, Downy Woodpecker, Purple Finch, Cardinal, Blue Jay, Morning Dove, White Wing Dove, Titmouse, Chickadee,
House Sparrow, Carolina Wren, Starling, Crow. We feed the birds.

3. nice -yesterday I heard and saw a Carolina chickadee, tufted titmouse,

song sparrows, mourning dove, cardinals, blue-jays, crows, American Goldfinches, mockingbirds, Eastern Kingbird, mallards at a local amusement park and house sparrows. The day before at our pool we saw several scarlet tanagers- male and female, and an Indigo bunting - I also heard an indigo bunting at my brother's house on the 4th of July. Couldn't see him, though, he was hiding.


And now I can see them even better with my new binoculars- birthday present from my menfolk.

4. Southeastern yard birds.

Red shouldered Hawk, Carolina Chickadee, Tufted Titmouse, mockingbird, Blue Jay, Chimney Swift, Downy Woodpecker, Carolina Wren.

Had a Swallow-tailed Kite come about 50 ft from my window earlier, but didn't hear it.
