Alan Lomax database now online . . .
The Alan Lomax Database
http://www.lomaxarchive.com/index.html

The Alan Lomax Database is a free multimedia catalog of the audio and video recordings and photographs made by Alan Lomax from 1946 to 1994, and by a few of his colleagues. It will also include one or two older collections of audio recordings made by Lomax on behalf of the Library of Congress, which have been transferred and remastered using advanced technology. The Database is designed to be an inclusive record of Lomax’s documentation of music and the spoken word; it thus includes imperfect and incomplete items. Every audio recording in the catalog can be heard in samples of forty seconds to two minutes.

Full-length versions of recordings that have been commercially released on Rounder Records may also be purchased as downloads. Fees from these downloads help with the maintenance of this site and the payment of artists’ royalties through Rounder Records.

1. Have not been in yet but thanks a bunch
I know that a lot of it's going to be what I'd lovingly refer to as American Old Time Traditional Music and that when I do go in I'll be there for days.

I've already got a shed load of KY and NC recordings quite apart from Bascomb Lamar Lunsford's DVD and the CD both have kept me happy for some weeks.

Have you checked out the new CD by Springsteen playing with Pete Seeger ? Amazon sent me link to watch the complete video of John Henry. If you search Seeger Sessions on Amazon I think you'll find it. A DVD accompanies the CD. Release is later this month.
