Pema Chodron has a new book coming out this month.
Her book is called "Taking the Leap: Freeing Ourselves from Old Habits and Fears."

I saw this in the new issue of Tricycle:

hard core alcoholism. i started meditating, i lived in West Texas, couldnt find any mediators. i acquired a large library of Meditation audio books, Jack Kornfield, Thurman, Dali Lama, Sharon Salzberg.. that i listened to at work with an ear phone 8 hours a day and at home whenever i could. i also had dozens of books on Buddhism and meditation.

about three months into my quest i run into a Tibetan Monk in the Library, he invites me to attend the Chenrezig Study Group. i attended 3 meetings a week for 5 years, till we had to move.. i am 10 years sober now, 11 next February.

i get all her new works. i really liked don't bite the hook.. i am looking forward to this new one... thanks

2. Congratulations!
10 years is a great accomplishment!

Pema's book, "When Things Fall Apart" is a truly wonderful book and I'm so glad to hear that it was so helpful for you. She does a great job interpreting Tibetan Buddhism into understandable and meaningful teachings for us "Westerners." She is very practical and has a good sense of humor too!

You were very fortunate to run into a Tibetan monk and have an opportunity to study for five years. :)
