GD forum thread - relevant to liberal Christians and DU language

Thought some of you might want to check this out (and post if so moved). It thanks recent posters who have used "Christians" in quotes when describing people or groups who are obvious hypocrites or religious bigots.

I really appreciate those DUers who take the time to use language (and punctuation, like quotation marks in this case) that avoids painting everyone of any group (Christians, Southerners, etc..) with a hopelessly broad brush). I think it is worth our time to let them know their sensitivity is not overlooked by many of us.

2. Unfortunately

it's been taken over by one poster who seems to think, as whenever anyone on DU suggests some self-discipline in the words we use towards each other, that the whole idea amounts to censorship and that all Christians are simply wrong. :shrug:
