1. I love our gay brothers and sisters!
And I'm praying that our General Conference will again work towards ending the hostilities, opening not only our churches, but also our ordained ministry to ALL who are called by God.

Oh, I dunno, maybe Open Hearts, Open Doors, Open Minds?

Seriously, though, if the gay haters start again next year to talk about schism, maybe they should just be left to it.

We had our New England Annual Conference last weekend, and I am fairly confident that our delegates to General can be counted on to vote to end the exclusion. It may not happen in '08, but, if not, maybe we can get there in '12.

4. Almost all of our delegates will, as well.
I know of one fundy lay delegate. He couches his language in theology, and never put in his profile that he was a ultra-conservative.

Seriously - let them leave. Please.

:hi:

5. It is so painful when they mask their hatred in theology.
What does the delegate say? Something like quoting verses out of context and twisting them to mean the modern forms of homosexuality?

It is so sad.
:(

6. At last year's N.E. Conference
when we were discussing a resolution to send to the quadrennial General, one of our voting members, toting her WWJDsign, stated "if we accept homosexuals we might as well accept single mothers, for cryin' out loud"!

If I had been able to be recognized by the Bishop...he claimed time for discussion had expired...I intended to state to her that I had my own WWDJ question...Where Would Jesus Discriminate?

7. Have you seen this website?
http://www.wouldjesusdiscriminate.com/

And what the hell is wrong with being a single mother? The father flies the coop for whatever reason or dies, and what is she supposed to do? Put her kids up for adoption? Marry the first available guy she picks off the street? Anyway, Mary had to raise Jesus by herself after Joseph died (Joseph is the patron of a happy death because tradition says he died in the presence of Jesus and Mary, supposedly when Jesus was a teenager).

8. You mean what does he say about homosexuality?
I've never heard him officially take a position, but he is a member of the UM Action, a conservative group that claims we have to get back to the traditional Wesleyan historical principles of following scripture, yada, yada, yada... These people believe the Bible is clear in its condemnation of homosexuality. :eyes:

BTW, one of the clergy delegates to Jurisdictional conference is a woman who is the head of Kairos Commotion - a "shit-stirring" group that is a delightful thorn in the side of many a fundy. :) Too bad she didn't get elected to General Conference. However, many of her petitions her group wrote ARE going to GC. Yay, Amy! :bounce:
