Can anyone tell me what this is? I got it as a Christmas gift
years ago, like it, and was thinking it'd make a fun gift for a sister who doesn't need a thing. Trouble is, I don't know what it's called, and googling glass bottle doesn't exactly help.
Oh, and excuse the dust.
Thanks for any responses.

2. It IS smallish. I foolishly was thinking some kind of marine floaty
thingamabob. Your suggestion makes more sense.

5. That was my guess, too
But if it's a perfume bottle, it may be an old one. Nobody does that sort of thing any more and this probably dates to the 1920s.

Better check and see what it's worth before you give it away. You may find you don't like her that much.

If it's something you want to give, consider filling it with her favorite perfume when you give it.

15. This is what the hook belonged to, lest you think I hadn't
stored the X-mas baubles yet!

This is a present to me from me on our last trip - don't know what she is, but that's okay.

10. I'd get it assessed by a professional assessor right away - they
don't generally charge more than $25 or so. It looks valuable.

11. Thanks, but I rec'd this as a Christmas gift about 10 years ago,
from an acquaintance. I can't imagine she spent a whole lot on it, though I suppose the value may have increased.

13. I don't think so. We lived on Guam at the time.

No estates there, or thrift stores! I figured she ordered it online.

Edit to add: Her husband worked in the fishing industry, which is where I had that marine idea.
He was involved in selling fresh tuna to Japan; I could speculate for hours!

17. Not a chance. Scent bottle
and possibly quite a bit older than the 20s.

Get it appraised.

Glass work that naive is either an art school project or quite old, and I'm betting it's the latter.
