I have so many anime series & films! I have all the Miyazaki films released so far, all of Cowboy Bebop plus the movie, the boxsets of Escaflowne, RahXephon, Samurai Champloo, Outlaw Star, Macross Plus, Evangelion, the Evangelion movies, Trigun, Azumanga Daioh, Hellsing, Wolf's Rain...lots of stuff. I started with Cowboy Bebop & went crazy.:P

But I strongly suggest getting ahold of Osamu Tezuka's Metropolis. Some of the most gorgeous animation I've seen.

13. Visually, Metropolis is stunning
Rintaro marries CGI and hand-drawn animation very well, and of course the character designs are excellent. Interesting use of music, too, particularly (I'm trying to avoid spoilers here) in the climactic scene, where I strongly suspect the use of music is a homage to a certain Kubrick film. But the story left me cold, somehow. It's worth watching, but I haven't found it to have much rewatch value.
