'Overheard at a Sotheby's party,
one smart-but-ageing aristo to
another: 'Are you still with Daphne?'
'Fraid not. She's too old to bread and
too violent to keep as a pet.'

... which reminds me of mad Ollie Reid's answer to his son, when he was asked by him why he didn't seem to be in any films between such and such a date and another: "They were only making 'I love you, Daphne' type of films at that time."
