The texas drought/fires
went on a little drive out to where one of the wildfires burnt about week ago. it was the pedernales/spicewood fire that burnt 6500 acres and destroyed 60+ houses. Its about 15 miles from my house in austin. I shot in both infrared and regular

This is the pedernales river.. right now its dried up. You can see the docks in the dry riverbed. You can also see where the fire burnt into what is normally the riverbed.

next is looking into what is/was a heavily wooded piece of land

and old oak now burnt

now the fire in infrared

2. this wasnt even the worst fire
the one in bastrop, about 30 miles east of me has wiped out over 1500 homes. the fire was moving at 20-30 miles an hour so most people only had minutes to get out. thankfully only 2 people were killed but the toll on animals was a lot worse :-(
It was a holiday weekend so many people were out and couldnt get in to save their pets.

4. Wish I could of sent some of if not most of
our water your way. I notice the IR even make the burn out areas look pretty. It has been a hard summer for so many.
