4 snapshots from today I really like
There is no way I could explain to you that Mom and I are not people of financial priviledge. It would be too involved, and TMI for this forum.

Suffice it to say that we are here in the Florida Keys because of a rare and wonderful thing. In my family's background there is a person whom my parents helped in a tiny German village of 416 people, where we lived for a while a long time ago. He made it big as a result of their mentoring him, and of course, his own efforts of integrating it into his own visions for growth and veering from his pre-destined course.
He now lets us live free in his huge condo in the Keys a month every year when we can make it here.

Tonight Mom and I walked out of 3 restaurants, because it was too expensive for our tastes to even split a meal there.
But, I got some pictures, we ended up fed, and we saw the Saturday night life in the middle Keys.

4 simple shots...

1. #4 It IS
Jackpot! They're all good but 4 id Dyno-Mite!

Know what you mean about finances and high prices in places people call Paradise. I scrimp and save all year to afford birthdays, christmas and other holidays and we go out very seldom as Cafe dining here will set you back a couple of hundred dollars for dinner for 4 and that is a reasonable meal (not pricewise). We depend on the rulottes which are delivery vans made into lunch wagons that serve steak and fries, chinese dishes and sashimi or poisson cru and so on.... Those only cost us about 15 dollars a person, Oh well, such is the living in Paradise

Hugs to you and your Mom, mine passed away 5 days before my birthday this year and I miss her terribly.

3. Those are spectacular, Mira
One might think you have a thing for reflexions.

Since our Marie Callenders closed the only place I can afford to eat out is Taco Bell and the like.

4. You and your mom are indeed
lucky to have such a caring and sharing friend, and I'm glad that the two of you can take advantage of his generosity and hospitality.

I hear you about "expenses", especially when visiting high end areas, but I'm thinking the best part is being able to spend quality time with your mom in an amazing location.

Your photos are amazing, as I too am drawn to reflection photos, but my favorite is #3. Busy people, business taking place, a real slice of life in the Keys.
