1. All beautiful
I think 2 and 3 represent fall best. My personal favorite is 2.

3. I agree...
1 and 4 are really good photos, but there's nothing about them that's fall-specific. They could be from any season.

3 is a lovely color study, but doesn't really have a focal point.

2 has the colors and the composition just right.

5. About number 3- Utah Colors.
In the summer, the hillsides in this area are green. This was taken in late September (on the 27th, I think). You are correct, there's no focal point. I was just fascinated by the variety of colors from what is just considered desert weeds.

4. I like Utah Colors.
In fact, I've never seen a photo of Utah that made me want to visit Utah, but that one does. What a beautiful swath of color!

7. Utah Colors
Negates "Surrounded" and prevents me from entering that snap. So, go with that one.

BTW: Plaza Dusk blows me away. I've never been able to snatch that kind of light. Technically... the light this time of year is completely different than any other time. The sun gets lower on the horizon... blah blah blah.

9. "Sun lower on the horizon"?
You'd LOVE it up here this time of year -- even at high noon the sun is low on the south horizon. Of course, there's always the 4 DEGREES part to put up with. Oh, well, you can't have it all, I guess.

10. I'm on my way. Just need to leave a note....
My lovely wife

I've gone to Alaska. They have this thing called "the sweet light". I know you probably won't understand. It's a photographerical thing.

Have also heard that they have dynamite homegrown weed in Alaska. I'm hoping that this will aid me in my journey for the "perfect light".

Will see you again in the Spring. Oh, I think I left the Coffee Pot on. You might want to shut it off.

Forever

Your loving husband.

13. He goes nowhere without Dr. Zarchov.
Ming the Merciless is always on his tail, and Gordon needs his scientist to get him out of tough jams. Him and those flying vikings.

17. That kind of personal attack was totally unjust
I respect the fact that you only see the world in two dimensions. If you want to live in your little suburban cubicle completely out of touch with the real world that's fine by me. But don't attack me for wanting to blend with nature. To become but a whisper in the wind that moves through the trees. A small glimmer in the moonlight that brushes the water of a mountain lake.

Touchdown will soon come to our way. See the truth in our way. So stop trying to sell your chemically enhanced strip mall religion on those that have no need for it.

Peace

18. #2 Utah Fall
For the exact same reasons regnaD kciN pointed out. Plaza dusk has outrageously good lighting but I feel the need to see more of the subject: that building, in order to qualify this a great photo. If I were judging only these photos I would feel the need to detract points here.

About that lighting though: I have called that particular kind of lighting "Photographers light" It is indeed rare. It can sometimes be seen when the sun is low on the horizon peeking underneath storm-clouds. The landscape is darkened due to the storm clouds blocking the ambient light of the sky while items on the landscape are detailed by the light of the sun flooding in underneath those clouds. It is during these rare events that subjects, normally drab and boring, take on a magical quality. A good time to grab a camera I say. In your example I see no evidence of storm clouds yet that light on the turret is very close to the light I am referring to. Do you recall the circumstances which generated it?
