1. Geez - I apologize sincerely for being ever present right now, and having
the contest to run is no excuse. I just have extra time, my arm is still healing and hurting, and today they did this to me
(and I'm still on Oxycontin, playing a veritable temporary ditto head)

What I think about your b/w - and now color for today - is that you are just blooming. You are choosing what is appropriate because you have ventured and studied and learned to make distinctions and choices that are appropriate for the image.

This walkabout report is better than fascinating. It has spirit and story and beauty and brilliance.
And certainly is not boring.
I hope you never stop posting while I'm around.

2. It's better to be here than nowhere. You were already miserable

with the broken arm, a few more days of discomfort means little. I hope the procedure was not too painful.

Thanks for the kind words (even though you are stoned out of your gourd on Oxycontin).

What I am doing now is disciplining myself to have a light touch with processing.

Yesterday I had my eyes checked at the VA. My prescription hasn't changed and the Macular Degeneration has stabilized. The dilation drops really messed me up, so I had to wait until today to edit and post my Sunday images.

3. Is that artwork on the storm drain city sanctioned?
Or is that some incredibly wonderful graffiti?

The first two shots are exceptional, although I like them all.

4. Yes, it was sanctioned. Two very cool gals did the work.

Claudia, one of the artists, is an old friend. I met the other last year when they were doing the paintings.

That red didn't come through on the second. I had it set to EV -3 and it still washed out. It looked OK in the LCD. I used Auto White Balance and some other filters to get the color near what I saw.

8. Perfection! Other than the hook and shadow - all of these needed the color.
This one may well be my favorite, but they really all are.
:)

6. What? No black and white?
I never grow weary of your photography. It holds my view. You should really think about taking it up a notch or two and consider gallery work. I'm sure there has to be a gallery or three where you reside. I'd love to see your work up close and real like - as I'm sure many others in your area would. Regardless, if only here you wish to share I understand. It's a real treat for me.

All that said. I'm still pissed that you didn't do any black and white.
:)

7. Thank you. Not sure if I am ready or willing to turn it into
"work." Getting into printing means getting into color correction, expensive software, and such.

Being "March" in the DU calendar was good enough for now.

9. I'm so glad I opened this post
You'd mentioned seeing a 'high fiber diet" on your walk...and my mind ran amok and very nearly thought my stomach wouldn't be up to seeing the results of a high fiber diet.

I know, I'm just a not being very noble today.

But the thread and pics have both been a wonderful light hearted surprise :)

10. Ha! I never thought of the end product, just the consumption.
