1. I like how the frame is broken into abstract shapes.

You have a good eye for simple patterns that work well in frame. The droplets enhance it from a picture of sticks to a work of art.

I fail in that because while I can see an image that appeals, after I put a camera in front of my face, click the shutter, and upload the file to my computer it no longer matches what I originally saw. If the ability to transpose one's vision into a printable image is a gift, I must have slept in the day they were handing it out.

On edit: I've always wondered who the person portrayed in your icon is.

2. Thank you for your kind words to a basically insignificant shot. I posted it
and said it was of last night in order to point out that our theme is everywhere, all the time.

Thank you also for the other kind words.
I know it would be wise to learn the mechanics of photography, and then progress to learning about composition.

I know almost nothing about the mechanics of photography, but composition comes to me quite naturally since I paint as well.

Here is more than you want to know about my icon. But she is so utterly magnificent a human being that you may want to know about her.

The first link leads you to more images of "me"
http://www.google.com/search?q=arundhati%20roy&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8
The second tells you who I am
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arundhati_Roy
and in the third you hear "me" speak

3. What a fascinating story you hold
I'm sorry I hadn't replied until now, but as I pointed out elsewhere here i replaced a heat sink and feared I lost the hard drive with all my pictures on it. Out of fear and trepidition I avoided the photo forum until I recovered the drive.

I had no idea you have such a colorful background of achievement. No wonder you have a tasteful and unerring eye for beauty. Congratulations on all you've accomplished.
