1. Not a bad start at all!!

the eagle is facing you so that is a big plus. Just have your camera handy, and when the eagle is ready I am sure you will get something amazing..............just a bit shy :silly:

My best opportunity for eagle photos were at Whidbey Island last summer, and I did get some pretty good ones there. Unfortunately for the best shots I had the camera in portrait mode accidentally, and the color is a bit off. I'll say this about eagles--they are really big! It is pretty amazing to see them out in the wild.

2. is that WA?

I will be working in Washington State towards the end of March. I am in Colorado right now and just a few days ago spotted this eagle sitting over the Colorado River. There is not a place to park the vehicle nearby and I haven't had an opportunity to walk in as of yet... and I am leaving to go to Kansas Friday.... I tried to snap the picture while in the car but others get impatient with me...

I had just done the tour at the Glenwood Springs Cave and caught a bat sleeping inside...
