Poll question: Winter Entry?
I don't think I have any preference among these. As far as I can tell each have advantages and disadvantages. As you can probably tell by these, our winters are mostly mild, which I don't mind at all, but it does limit my options for winter photo entries. I don't think we will get any more visible winter weather here this month. These are all from 2010 or 2011. I don't want to reach back any further than that.

So, thanks for helping.

1. I voted for the third because I like it best but I think
the first one would get more votes. The second one really makes me feel icy cold, and I like it, too, but it does not spell "winner" = only "winter".
I think the third is one that is a bit more unusual for you, and I like very much how the space is used.

3. I'm a little torn, too. I have to go with the first one....it does make me
feel cold. However, the third one facinates me. I've lived my whole life south of I-10, and to see snow close up like that is just so cool!

4. I went with 3.
Love the lines and it screams winter. You got some great detail with it and a beautiful crystal blue sky. I guess I am the odd one since you first photo though beautiful and a strong image on its own just does not say winter to me. With out the title and a very close look it doesn't scream winter. Maybe first melt, shrug. Some of that is where I am located but it is something that each voter is going to bring with them. As for picking what will win, your guess is as good as mine. I rarely can pick a winner.

Will have to say that #3 is a good image for a small simple frame to pull it out of the surrounding white. Like this...

It really is a beautiful photo and betting it looks even better bigger. There is so much detail even though it has such simple and clean lines.

7. Absolutely agree with the frame - and as always
I'm happy to read CC's comments. I learn something, every time, and if it's only to open my eyes. I'm glad this is turning out to be "the one", I liked it from the start, now with a face in it and a frame I like it even more

:)

8. I went to gray with the frame
because black was too much.

I also feel like I am saying a photo is beautiful or gorgeous and don't really add much beyond that. It is the typing and the finding better words. I really hate typing. I'm not that good at it and my mind goes way to fast for my fingers. We won't even go into how many different things are going on in this non-linear, ADD brain of mine. If I get detailed usually it is because something is screaming for attention is easy for me to see.

5. I think 3 is beautiful
I really like 2, then 1.

I also like 3 because I can see a snow covered face in it. :)

Right hand side...the limb going up is sorta like a cap trimmed in white...with eyes directly below, a nose coming down from the eyes and a small round mouth below looking surprised to be caught in the snow.

Kinda looks like a snowy owl too.

Don't mind me....lolol

6. I see that face too, now. This is a subliminal positive for the picture :) not that it needs it.

9. Thanks everyone for your votes and comments
I also wasn't sure if number one looked cold enough, so seeing that mentioned was helpful (it was cold, trust me). I do like the third one because I framed those tree branches purposefully, although I never saw a face, I think I see what you mean. Yep, that would have to be subliminal. I'll try putting a frame around it, too. That will be it, then, due to your consensus and comments, except in the extremely unlikely event that we have some other snowstorm that I want to brave.
